Hook Dancing/Wriggling on the Hook
For a while now I've seen many people argue on whether or not hook dancing/wriggling on the hook means you are being camped. Out of sheer curiosity I want to find out what the majority of the playerbase (Well those that actually read the forums) think.

Does hook dancing mean you're being camped?
Does hook dancing mean you're free to rescue?
Or is it completely meaningless?

Your vote is greatly appreciated!

If you play to win, you will try anything that help your team. Me personally always do that, but many just chill on hook or ignore my "dance".

I have been playing since the game came out...the waving the arms means you are waving off the save cause the killer is camping. I am clueless as to why this is so difficult for people to understand?

I completely agree that it means the killer is camping dont save me. However I keep seeing people say that it's the opposite and that my opinion is in the minority.

So this was mostly just to find out what most people actually believe
Waving arms means the killer is camping.

It used to mean that the Killer is nowhere to be seen; come save me.

It SHOULD mean that the Killer is camping; don't come near me.

It used to mean the killer is camping. However, It has lost all it's meaning nowadays because new survivors are clueless and do it at all times.

Whatever your teammates think it means, it's worth doing on the chance the killer decides you're not making it worth camping.

Since release it has always meant "the killer is camping, don't come near" at least to my friends and I

I've always known it to mean that the killer is camping, but in addition it means they they are not in voice coms with the other survivors. So you at least have that going for you.

There was a topic in the early days of DBD that was basically a PSA informing people to perform the "hook dance" if the killer was camping so everyone could just focus on doing gens.

I think I made that topic. :steammocking:

Had a match earlier today against a crouch-camping Pig with a sacrifice ritual who got me at the start of the match. Waved like crazy but one person still went for the save.

The killer, by the way, got some nasty abuse at the end of the match. I was like "Really guys? I'm not mad and I got killed with under 2,000 points scored... just go to the next game."

It never meant that it's safe. Yet another thing newcomers falsely believe.

The Hook Dance became a thing very early on in the game's life and it always meant that the Killer was camping.

some idiot made a thread saying the wiggle means it is safe because it doesn't make sense to wiggle in the killers face.. the sheep read it and decided that is what it meant even tho for a good 6 months or more it has always ment the killer was camping...

It was originally used to tell your team about camping killers. Now it seems people use it randomly to signal camping or for help... Can never really be sure anymore.
