What situations would make aftercare a better perk than bond? Is the the distance of aura and that's it?

I personnaly prefer Empathy, for range and it can also give you information about the killer's location.

aftercare can reach the map its good at telling you where exactly 1 person is but bond is good at telling information around you

id take bond over aftercare dont underestamate bonds range

Out of the three, I feel the same way about empathy, with the exception of running Prove Thyself. I prefer bond for that combo.
