Games like Dead by Daylight?
I really love Dead by Daylight but I always felt like another game could do it different and succeed. Is there any alternative out there that stands up to it?

Good luck sadly. Friday the 13th has a very small community. All the others have completely died off.

There was one in 2014 called Damned and it is like Dead by Daylight but a lot more searching for keys. Interesting to check out

Monstrum 2 is looking like a unity tech demo of DbD from like 2015 and Last Year faster than you can say "wasn't this game supposed to come out last year?"

Last Year had so much potential but the dev's made a lot of dumb choices. We also had Hide or Die and that is just a dumpster fire that needs to go out.

Not really any other games like dbd that lasted for more then a month so idk what to really say.

There aren't any that are as refined as DBD. And that's a low bar to match. Also why DBD is as big as it is. They effectively have no competition

One that I tried that is very similar to DBD is an early access game called GOLD EXPRESS. It's from a Chinese dev team. The game was fun, but not a lot of people playing. They are currently reworking the game they said.

Identity V.

It's basically a dead by daylight clone with a cartoony anime twist.

It even has crossovers from popular Japanese games like Danganronpa and Persona.

AFAIK, it's mobile-only, though.

I loved Damned it's a shame it had kinda boring objectives for the survivors and the budget must've been what was left over from a Taco Bell run. The killers were a lot of fun to play and booby trapping the random objects for sound cues was a really neat mechanic.

Identity V has a PC client and it's hardly a clone considering BHVR helped work on it. I think they should take some ideas from V.

Soul at Stake but I don't know how well it's doing these days.

There is a game called Deceit that is kinda similar. Last I played it about a year and a half ago, it was quite fun. Steamcharts reports that it still has a healthy player population as well.

There is a mobile game called "identity V"
Very similar to Dbd but
80% of survivor have stunt skill
60% of survivor have more than 1 life
Survivor can tripple sprint
Full of double pallet
None of killer in that game can instant down
None of killer can hide terror radius

Resident Evil: Resistance is the closest I can think of. I would watch some playthrough of it and see if it's interesting though. It has an enormous price tag and if you're only gonna play for a couple of hours then I wouldn't buy it. I would also recommend buying it on a non-PC platform as their playerbase is bigger and they have a few features PC does not.

There were a lot of hackers on pc back when I tried it.

If you enjoy asymmetrical multiplayer then I think it peaked with Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow. They added a classic MP mode to the newest Splinter Cell, Blacklist, but It's hard to find public matches. Go in with 3 friends and you'll have an absolute blast.
