Input lag with HDMI
Does anyone know how get rid of input lag when plugging a laptop to a TV? Doing skill checks are harder to do with the delay and I notice that when playing in first person there's like a 1 second delay and it makes it hard to shoot with deathslinger. Trying to find a way to fix this cus I'd like to use a projector while playing this game.

It's your TV's refresh rate, nothing you do will change it outside of buying a new TV. Or use a PC monitor.

Many newer TV's will have modes you can change based on what you're doing. Gaming, movies, sports, ect. Try changing some and see if it helps.

I appreciate the help! I've tried that. I also priorities the TV(instead of having the laptop screen on). It works decent with a few games but otherwise if there are quick timed event or fast paced it really doesn't do me any favors.
Even following that good advice, TVs are not gaming monitors.
Unless your TV is on the expensive side you'll always be at a disadvantage against someone with a 240Hz screen.
If you only lose 18ms (a bit more than a 60Hz frame), you can already consider yourself lucky.
Some are decent if you set them to 1440 and 120Hz (many 4K tvs can do this) but the input lag is still going to be rough.

TV's notoriously have bad imput lag, you can try to see if it has a game setting but other then that you might be boned. Tv's barely have enough processing power to support what they can do, anything beyond that and you get bad imput lag.

It's not frame advantage that I'm worried about. I get a solid 55-60 frames when plugged to a TV. The problem is when I move the screen(not the character) it feels delayed by 1 second or the information I'm supposed to be receiving is delayed if that make sense.
By lose I meant delay.

One second, as in 1000ms an in 60 frames late?
What is the model of the TV?

it's the display controller, not refresh rate.

I didn't know that. Do you got any recommendations for TV's or Projectors?
It's better to avoid them playing multiplayer games on PC, input lag is much worse in general.

To reduce input lag switch the TV to "low latency", "gaming", "PC" or "graphics" mode if it's available. Some manufacturers made this ability hidden, like you rename the source to "PC" to activate it. Google for a specific model feature or read the manual.
Also, make TV the primary display or, better, run it single, w/o monitor or laptop screen enabled.

I've tried those methods before sadly :sadMio:
There is also one feature which may affect latency, it's called "Lip sync", HDMI AV reciever is likely to have such option in settings.

I have a Hisense. Big TV.
A brand is not a model.
Apparently their H8G is OK, it depends on the output resolution.
Just check this[www.rtings.com].
To see the only Hisense of the list you need to expand the list (by default it only shows a sample).
Run skill checks by ear. The visuals always lie.

Sound may lag too, I had setups were picture was way ahead of audio.

Ur tv should have a thing called PC mode or game mode on it , enable this and the lag will disappear
