lets rewind to 2017
and look at the same question

https://www.reddit.com/r/PUBATTLEGROUNDS/comments/716ojr/can_we_be_banned_for_using_sonic_radar_iii/

edit : btw VAC gives bans for it.

so I am leaning toward it NOT being allowed.
but you can go ask EaC.

2nd edit : ASUS even once made a freaking Graphs card that had BUILT IN WALL HACKS....
so many flags! https://www.theregister.com/2001/05/10/asus_releases_games_cheat_drivers/

Strongly recommend you DO NOT USE.

I would hope something like that is instantly bannable. Who the hell thought this was a good or even fair idea?

The Blendies got mad that Killers use fancy headsets to find them.

The Blendies cried that some Killers use Nvidia filters to see them.

The Blendies will riot if this is not considered a cheat.

Because good headphones and software that tells you exactly where people are are the same thing...

I think that was the intention. I never got it to work on my rig so I can't say how well it works.

Once upon a time the sound in this game actually worked. A wooden wall didn't become a sound proof recording studio when a survivor was breathing heavily on the other side.

The thing you need to realize is that certain hardware setups essentially are as effective as a cheat even if they are not sonic radar III.

With the right equipment you could pipe the game audio to another device and send pieces to "nowhere". For example you could pipe the chainsaw noises of billy, chase music and survivor screams to a dummy channel that never plays in your ear.

This is a little more expensive than just swapping out a video card however.

Thats exactly what it is. It shows an arrow and an optional radar that will show you the direction of any sound that happens, breathing and running in chases would set it off in dbd essentially giving you close range wallhacks.

This right here is what I meant about having good headset to find Survivors. The patch that fixed the issue of Survivors being able to hear the whimpers of other Survivors across the map borked the sound for me. Prior to that patch. I could track your exact location through walls and other obstacles with ease from foot steps alone. Flashlights were a joke. And, if you were injured. Good luck.

Getting back on topic with the OP. It is currently unknown if you will be punished for this software as no one has popularized it for this game. The old program that I don't remember the name to people used to block other users ips has been blacklisted for quite sometime. It was immensely popular for blocking "toxic" players.

Software that allows you to have an out of game to in game enhanced experience is considered cheating? Who would have guessed that, i mean having tools that other might not and using it to your advantage to dominate your fellow players. How could this be seen as wrong. The world may never know.

So are you complaining that having a good headset is an unfair advantage and Bhvr mucking up the audio is a good thing? Or, is this some passive aggressive jab at Discord?

Actually if you roll the game back to before I think patch 1.4 (which if I recall was somewhere around 2017-18) the sound worked pretty universally.

After that point you had some soundcards working and others that almost entirely lost sound.

Good headsets are fine, audio/visual software that heightens what you can see and hear beyond the scope of what the game offers to ALL PLAYERS is obviously not ok. If they intended to let you do something it would be in the game or an option to use in the game. The audio thing im not so sure about because i wasnt there for it but it sounds like they fixed something unintended to me.

If you think running programs outside your game to make is easier for you isnt cheating then I dont think you believe in cheating as a concept, and at that point your either trolling or unreasonable. I dont know you though so I wont assume.
