What's the point of using borrowed time?
According to the perk, if you get hit once it's triggered you still get into dying state so?..

Its extremely useful at the end of a game when a gate is open but someone gets hooked. It also gives a would-be rescuer a much greater chance of saving someone who is being camped. You can be healed (or heal yourself) when Borrowed Time is activated, and if you heal before that timer runs out you don't go back into the dying state, you just have to heal again up to healthy.

Basically, it gives you a better chance to lose the killer should he be nearby when youre unhooked by forcing the killer to hit you twice or attempt to stick near you until Borrowed Time runs down. Whenever someone runs at me when I'm hooked and the killer is right behind them, the first thing I think is "you better damn well have BT if you are trying to grab me in that situation." Usually followed by "you are the BIGGEST ♥♥♥♥ " when it turns out they don't and the killer just smacks me down and rehooks me while person B runs off with their points farmed.

What i don't get. You can down someone with borrowed time even when the timer is still active.

Yeah, it only soaks 1 hit. a 2nd hit will down them. otherwise you'd have semi-invulnerable people running around bodyblocking the killer while other stuff is going on.

1750 points + waste 40 seconds of the killers time x4 per match
Zen May 16, 2017 @ 4:57am
It only works once per matchs it says

But all 4 survivors can use it, which is the main reason a lot of killers dislike it. I'm sure if 1-2 people used it every match, killers wouldn't hate on it as much.

I still don't get the point
he just has to hit you twice like every time

Only campers hate it... lots of skilled killers do not even trigger this perk... mine is often still active at the end of the match though I got several survs off the hook. It's a perfect perk against campers.

Thats the point: You have to hit twice... not one time hitting the rescued surv to down him again as it is without this perk... this often helps to leave the basement or loose the killer in a pallet or hidy town... Only if you have to take a second hit before loosing the killer you get downed again.

Well, it's based off the 'last down' from L4D 1&2, where your screen goes black and white when you've been downed twice without healing.

In L4D, your health slowly whittles down until you're essentially as healthy as a person on their death bed. That's represented by the 40 second time in DBD.

Also in L4D, you can take a hit that instantly kills you in B&W, even when you still have some health left. That's why you can be downed while the timer is still ticking in DBD.

Not saying this to you personally, as you have played L4D2, but I'm saying in general.

It's one of the most powerful survivor perks. Being able to save someone from a hook after gates are powered with no risk can prove enough.
Zath May 16, 2017 @ 5:31am
It's a great perk to get a free save. Just go in and farm a survivor, the killer will be forced to chase them and you can get away scot-free.

[In case my sarcastic tone isn't being conveyed, borrowed time screws over the unhooked survivor 9 times out of 10, and I wouldn't recommend using it unless you like that sort of thing].

Kinda have the feeling people are sometimes using it just to farm points, without risking their own lives, and having an excuse for it ....
