Objectively the Ruin+Undying perk combo nerf was justified.
Way too many baby killers were being carried by the perk for a free win if they even got a remotely good spawn. Too many survivors refused to learn or try ruin skillcheks which means they spent the game running around doing nothing until it was found. This made the game a bit of a farce at mid to lower ranks and a free win even with baby rank 1 ruin (the most annoying thing in existence) It's time for these baby killers to properly learn how to play the game and apply pressure.

Next thing for the devs to address will be the dodgy hits from killers who have bad ping and i think they will get that done aswell.

Edit: I think the games since the nerf have improved and i even the early skeptics can admit that now, no more survivors running around and looking for a totem or constantly failing skillchecks. I have also seen less camping since there's no ruin to facilitate a free camp.

Thread update: With the ruin change and the introduction of Hex:Undying I have altered the thread accordingly but not completely since some old mechanics and playstyles that were common under old Hex:Ruin were back in play with the Ruin/undying perk combo. Things such as people running around looking for totems, people not being productive, killers getting free pressure on gens again without having to do a whole lot and basically relying on these perk combo like old ruin. Also adding into the mix that killers would randomly find people who went anywhere near a totems and show their arua also was just too oppressive.
Therefore the same reason old ruin nerf was justified i'm going to do the same for this perk combo.

You said that this game is for casual people and the game should be balanced about that, right? Then you are contradicting yourself cause you keep to repeat the same phrase: "in that way baby killers stay where they should be: in high ranks" so for your logic killers should be only experienced people, without possibilities for newcomers to learn as killer... Sorry dude, but your logic is flawed, without mentioning that hex totems can be destroyed quite easily even if you don't learn the totem spawn points, so in the end the old ruin was teaching to new survivors not only to do great skillchecks, but also to learn the maps and his loops...
90% of the players are casual so ruin was making it boring for them

Unless you took insta down killers like billy and oni, if you are facing good survivors you can't end chases quickly, and that's a fact

That and NOED were the reasons why I learned map layouts and the importance of hitting great skillchecks back when I joined this game March last year.

There's still alot of maps like hawkins with totems too hidden, people aren't using detectives hunch.
You can have all the hours that you want, but hours can't help you to catch survivors: we have already see that with streamers who have more than 5000 hours but despite that they can struggle against a survivor who is capable of looping. I don't have so many hours, but it doesn't require a genius to know that with normal m1 killers your chases will be much longer than a killer who can hit you once and hook shortly after...

To be fair, "boring" to a lot of Survivors usually means "annoying" or "difficult." A lot of players don't seem to understand what "boring" actually means.

There's alot of mechaincs in the game that are "boring" such as doc madness 3, the mending mechanic, latency hits ect ect. Difficult is if a killer brings a mori just for you and wants to tunnel you for the entire game, and then surviving that game still. Or a W holder killer with bloodhound and hardcore tunneling. And yes old ruin was "boring" pretty much everyone agreed on that.

See? That's what I mean. None of that is boring. It's annoying. In case of the Hex: Ruin and tunneling with Mori is outright fustrating, but none of it is boring.

Boring implies there's no emotional reaction at all from the recipient. If boring was described in a sentence in reaction to something it would sound something like, "Eh, whatever. Here we go again....."

When people explain something that's boring in this game, the way they talk about it makes it actually sound like this:

Imo ruin isn't thaaat bad (as mainly a survivor player), bbq is far worse and the fkn meta (Which is stupid for a game like this.. why meta game, it's all people do in games now-a-days...). As this guy says as well..
It's ALWAYS bbq, noed (or rancor), ruin, and something else random. I don't use any of that ♥♥♥♥ except maybe ruin sometimes.

BBQ would only stop being used if it stopped giving BP. Because that's the reason people use it. If it didn't give any BP, it would get dropped like a rock. And it's telling that only a few perks are viable for Killers to use... and BVHR is focusing on nerfing those perks.

Killers would flip their lids if BBQ was points only. But since killer mains love to keep saying that it's only about points, BHVR please remove the aura reading from BBQ. Killer mains don't like or use it anyway. XD

I agree with Terratrox, that BBQ probably is next or in the near future. Almost every killer runs BBQ and Ruin, and NOED isn't too far behind them. I'm surprised when i get a match and the killer isn't running any of them, but don't worry, I'm not surprised often.

Annoyance can lead to boredom. After being subjected to the same things every time or nearly every time you do something, it gets repetitive and boring. You act so intelligent but can't understand something so simple.

Something not annoying can too. My point is is that they explain it like it's annoying when they say it's boring is what my problem is.

True, but in the context of this game I mean.. you know what they mean usually. lmao

It seems to me that some of you think that hours = skill.
That is not how things work. Sure they MIGHT ( Key word, might ) have some game knowledge and that helps. But it does not mean they are skilled by any means. I have seen plenty of people with far more hours in the game than I do ( and, among these people are streamers as well. ) play like someone who is brand new or just terrible at games in general. ( You mostly do not run into killers that way in the red ranks but you will see a lot of survivors in the red ranks like that. )

So the people who keep talking about more hours played need to kind of wake up and stop trying to use that as something it is not.

That is right because i see lots of Russian killers with over 2k hours and play like they have 20-100hrs so you have a point.
