New "ranking system" for swfs draws low ranked survivors into high ranks, leaving few survivors in low ranks for the bunch of killers in those. So we got an overflow of high ranked survivors to get randomly thrown into low ranked killers lobbys to prevent eternal matchmaking to be a thing.
It is just a theory but would explain a lot.
easy to level up as survivor... you can literally barely do anything and still pip.. so you get a bunch of red rank survivors.. barely any low rank survivors..
so matchmaking eventually throws red rank survivors into low rank killer games...
the whole system is screwed up.. mainly because pipping as a survivor is so easy.. I'm rank 7 from just doing generators, and rescuing people occasionally.. I survive probably 1 in 7 games,, I suck in chases,, outside of getting pallet stuns...
yet i'm rank 7... that pretty much sums up how easy it is to pip as a survivor.. you almost have to intentionally try to derank as a survivor.. even then unless you litearlly give yourself up with in the first minute of a game you're likely going to pip.. or at the very least safety pip..
But even worse was a game just now vs full rank 15-17 derankers that just flashlight you 3 times when you pick someone up and then 360 you and tbag you because they feel great about outplaying someone technically 10 ranks below them (your rank 3 perks tell the full story regardless how much you derank)
Literally me rank 7-8 survivor who can't juke but hits a bunch of perfect skillchecks and saves people though with only gens and no saves you de-pip
THey should share to us the player amount for each rank.
If you want to be like a competitive game(and for me DBD is not a competitive game) start to make a decent ranking system. Use a gaussian distribution/ELO system.
Of course it will be more complicated because there is a ton of factor in this game, but without that you will have, maybe, 75% playerbase in rank 10-1 and 25% in rank 20-11.
Wich would probably be much more healthy for the game and new players.
