discord 'blocked' by DBD

whenever im playing DBD with a friend in discord, whether im using voice activation or push to talk, after about 10 sec of being tabbed into DBD, it stops working, and i need to tab out/in to get it to work again, streaming similarly freezes, if i tab to discord, it runs fine...

whats going on?? this is only with DBD that ive had this issue

I had this problem playing DBD over 62 FPS. I believe this is a mistake due to the high FPS rate in the game. The error does not occur when using the default game setting (62 FPS).

dbd terms states that using a third party communication service like discord is not bannable. it might be because you have overlay turned on and it lags you out.

I had discord turn off all desktop sounds off completely lol. dont know why.

Tried it right now with Voice Activation / PTT and Streaming and all 3 Things worked fine for me with Discord and DBD.
What exactly do you mean by "it stops working" ?

What exactly do you mean by "it stops working" ?

well something else i noticed, discord makes the disconnect/reconnect sound (in that order) whenever i join a lobby with other survivors (not SWF, but once you load in with a killer) and does the same thing when you die and get to the death screen where you see stats, not always but often.

also when i tabbed out of the game when it wasnt working one time, discord showed it was loading like i had just booted up or something (flavor text, spinning logo)

again, this is only with DBD and its only happened recently, im on a new computer and it worked fine for a few weeks before this happened.

I play woth discord open just fine. Its a problem with your computer, DBD has no way to make your computer turn off Discord. If it ever did that people would stop playing as thats a very invasive computer program

ah! yes! i uncapped the FPS cuz i have a 144hz monitor, so at 60 its kinda...eh...

it doesnt go much over 60 fps though, so i could re-cap it and i think that would fix it, i think thats about the time the issue started. so its likely. thanks!

Uhhh!?

I'm fairly fairly certain that this is because Discord or DbD isn't running in Admin mode.

If you load up Task Manager and keep it as your main active window, I bet the mic still doesn't work, right?

Close DbD and Discord and right click on Discord.exe and run it as Administrator, when that's done, go to your DbD folder and right click DeadByDaylight-Win64-Shipping.exe -> Properties -> Compat -> Run as admin

Fixed

It's definitely not tied to framerate

I don't have that answer, but it really is strange. But it was the only way I could get around the problem.

When I had this problem, I had tried to run both with administrator permissions. Unfortunately I did not get success.

nope, already tried that, running discord as admin does not change anything.

i will say i havent run DBD as admin as well, but its working now and the FPS only went up like 10 or maybe 20 more frames so its really not a big deal enough that i feel like messing with it.
