Stranger things DLC: Why'd they pick Steve?

I know I'm late to the party on this one but I only recently picked this game back up. I was overall impressed with the Stranger Things DLC as it was one of my favorite shows back in the day.

My only question is, why did they go with Steve Harrington for the survivor? I get Nancy, but shouldn't they have gone with Jonathan Byers? I mean, for seasons 1, 2, and 3, both he and Nancy are the ones researching, hunting, and fighting the monsters.

IIRC, Steve has more prominence in Season 3, which is what the DLC is primarily based off of.

I feel like Hopper and/or Joyce would've been fine choices as well. While I completely understand why Nancy got put in over her given she's a main character and much more prominent... personally Robin > Nancy.

Steve is a much more interesting character than Jonathan. Especially in season 3. Jonathan was just an annoying boyfriend in season 3.

Give me Steve any day.

They definitely should have went with Hopper and Joyce, or maybe even Billy.

I mean, they pretty much broke their age limit rule with Nancy, They deny it but she isn't the type to be held back a year, and her look is out of season 1 where she is 15-16. and Steve isn't much better being only a year ahead of her. Sure they have season 3 outfits in the store but that's not their base skin and even by the end of season 3 we aren't sure Nancy is 18 yet.

Nancy's bio sounds like its from just after the end of season 2 to the start of season 3, but Steve's sounds like its out of season 1. Also, the game map and dlc trailer both seem to have been set in season 1. Anyway, enough of that.

I'm sure they could have made a bundle off of selling shirtless Billy's in his Lifeguard outfit.

But who knows.. Maybe they will have a Stranger things 2 DLC with Hopper and Joyce entering the realm of the Entity as they search for Nancy and Steve?

I think Steve was kind of cool at the end of season 1. Hopper is similar to Trapp (being a police officer), and I imagine his power might be like Ash from Evil Dead (brute strength and protection) .Maybe the Devs are avoiding creating same types of survivors.
