Why do 99% of survivors play a female character?

I main Jake and even have legacy on him, I’m not sure why female classes get played WAY more than male ones. I’ve noticed this and it’s just a question that I’ve been meaning to ask. I’m guaranteed to que with a Claudette or Meg than let’s say a Dwight. Why is this

The females in the game are physically smaller and tend to have clothing choices that are better for stealth.
Only thing i can think of.

Play who ever you want, the difference is small.

Im not sure there would be any other reason than just playing the game with a preference... thats like asking the question the other way around.. each character has their own perks.. and not only males play this game, maybe a female wants to be a female character ?

Their perks are better. SB, SC, DS. The only non-female character meta perk is BT.

Though I know a lot of tryhards who specifically play female characters because they're smaller in build.

There are 2 main reasons the most people run Female Characters.
1- Their teachable perks are far superior to almost every other teachable perk in the game, with the exception of maybe Borrowed Time and Dead Hard. They end up sticking with these characters because they got used to them while leveling thier first character for teachables.
2- In general they have much darker clothes that cover more of their body which makes it easier for them to hide.

Personally I play Claudette because I have the Legacy Shirt for her (she was just the first one I prestiged) and it has an arrow on her butt and I find that amusing.

1. Claudette Nea, Feng and Meg have meta perks to be learned as teachables.
2. All female characters in this game are smaller than male characters, which slightly boosts the ability to stealthily play.

Smaller size really is the main reason. Though in my case I switch between the rarer characters like Ace and Laurie since your not likely to see a duplicate in a lobby. Makes stealth harder sometimes but I enjoy being the only Ace in matches XD

I just do it because, like in any third person camera style game that lets you choose the gender of your avatar, If i am going to be staring at a characters butt for over 100+ hours, it might as well be an apealling one. Y'know, something nice to look at... so yes.

Also Claudette happens to be black, making her harder to see.

I main Bloodletting Dweard and Street Meg. Best of Both worlds.
