What's are some aspects of design you appreciate?
Regardless of all the arguing about gameplay, I don't think anyone can refute that the level/character/etc. designers did an outstanding job. What are some of the things that you like design-wise about the game?

I'm trying to draw a generator right now and it's so complex. I'm dying.

I like how all the texture work is low resolution yet still looks nice and holds a decent amount of detail
The killers. The killers look and sound fantastic in this game, each one of them is just incredibly unique and awesome looking in my opinion. I admire the designers that came up with them.

Aye, I loooove their textures. You can see some of the individual pixels on the generators in particular, but it still looks super good. I wish they'd show us some of the UV maps because I have to know how they managed their space.

I like the randomness.
What map? What Killer? How good are my teammates? What stuff do they have?
2.5/4 of that is gone now.

The characters for sure. The game spawned my favorite character and whom I think is the most badass in any video game ever: :thetrap:

The reason I like this way more than F13 however, is that the ideas they had with this game were perfect and they executed them well. The two hit downs, hooks, all that, very well done ideas. Just bringing up F13 as I know someone said in a video that this game had the better ideas and execution, and I agree so much.

Yessss. Regardless of how people whine about the game design, from a game designer's perspective, these mechanics are brilliant. Meanwhile, F13 was... fairly straightforward. Not bad, but not nearly as intuitive as DbD's are.

It had the ideas set out and when I first heard of how things worked, I was instantly hooked (hahahahahah *insert more laughter here*). Getting ideas for how a game will play out, good ones at that, nowadays is quite challenging, but I think DbD pulled them off so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ well, it's so fun. I would not have been here for nearly 1500 hours if they hadn't have come up with all the design choices and ideas to keep my interest for so long.

The trapper's design is great. Even after hundreds of hours there's still something intimidating about his posture and the way he strides, especially if P3/Legacy Prestige.

I give them props to fast gameplay, some map designs (Coldwind Farm) - The idea of cornfield all around brings such a nice horror effect,especially when you're in the corn your vision is all screwed up, but when you get on the higher ground you can see the whole field. Those little things are what made fall in love with this game.

I remember they had shots of their whiteboarding process in the concept art booklet. I wish they were bigger so we could've actually read them. And seeing how things have evolved since Bunny Trapper was a thing really shine a light on how much trial and error they've had to do to get here. And same, man; as much as some of the playerbase infuriates me, the game really is a steal for just $20.

As much as I hate the cornfield, my sentiments are similar. It's such a simple concept, but it's had so much thought and planning put into it to make the horror come alive. <3
