The biggest and most important dbd PTB is coming

The Bubba changes and hillbilly changes are interesting yes, but there's a far more important change/test in the next PTB that is probably the biggest yet in terms of fairness. Lets hope the devs get this one right and everyone gets fair games from now on, that's all i was asking for.

Big shout to some friends of mine who gathered video evidence and data to help the devs know exactly what was going on with bad killer ping in a more detailed level and now hopefully it's the end of killers from outside your region getting a massive advantage with bad hits.

SERVER IMPROVEMENTS
Currently, hits are handled on the Killer’s end. If they appear to be within range of a Survivor, they will be able to hit them. In most cases, this works well: The Killer is able to reliably hit Survivors, and the Survivors see roughly the same thing on their end with a small amount of latency. If the Killer has a weak connection to the server, however, it can cause some strange looking hits that appear to be out of range, most notably at pallets and windows.

During this upcoming Player Test Build (PTB), we’ll be testing Server Side Hit Validation. Any time the Killer hits a Survivor, the server will check and see if the hit was possible within a reasonable margin. If the Survivor was too far to be hit, the hit is negated.

To put it simply, if you have a stable connection, you won’t notice any difference as the Killer. Your hits will still appear instantaneously and should not be rejected. As a Survivor, however, a Killer with a weak connection should no longer be able to hit your from further away due to their high latency.

Second, we'll be increasing the tick rate of our servers from 30Hz to 60Hz. Basically, this means that the servers sends out information twice as frequently as before, so what you see as a result is more accurate.

We will be monitoring these changes closely over the course of the PTB before proceeding further.

No one can complain about lagging killers, when EVERY killer lags

Yes, hopefully killers from russia, south africa, and other regions without servers won't have such an unfair advantage and killers abusing VPN should also have a lesser playing experience as they should.

It will probably be a much longer process than we hope unfortunately but at least it's started now. They need to be testing vpns themselves and ways to give themselves bad ping and see how it's working.

Keep trying every few days i would say, this would be by far the hardest thing they ever tried to fix but they might suprise us. Keep expectations very low tho.

They said they were testing it in this ptb if you read the dev update, hard to know with these devs tho.

I have zero expectations as of right now.

Tried playing a few games, but I kept getting DC'd.
