How to access someone steam profile (for hax report)
You may know or not, if you want to report someone for cheats you need proof and cheaters steam id. I have proof, but idk how to access steam profile (it worked few months ago). Ideas?

I know what is the process for report, and i know what i need. Thank you for your message but it is not helping me.

Exactly. No one here knows the answer for you.

Goto the official forums and get an official response... Or you can go on to believe what you want to believe since no one here will be able to provide a 100% correct answer.

You literally get the steam info in the logs for each player in the lobby if you know how to get to it.

Survivors still can tell who the killer is and what they are playing when they join a lobby.

All the information in on your machine already.

So if they send in the logs for the match.... or even chat logs, don't you think it would also include that player's ID?

BHVR made an entire friend system which matches BHVR player IDs to Steam IDs... And will then be cross platform.

IMO I don't think the STEAM ID is a requirement in your video anymore.

But...

Get a mod from the official forums to answer so hackers will know they can go untouched until BHVR fixes this profile things in the game.

The devs don't let you access steam profiles anymore from the game. Maybe if the player had a more unique name, you can search him on steam and maybe you will find him.

I tried exactly that, but i can't find exact nickname that he/she had in game (there are around 100 similar ones). I wonder if he/she was playing on console and it was crossplay...

You can see player profile on the menu that show pings my english not good enough to explain where it is but it appears when u press esc and a button there.

Also reporting on steam Profile is not the correct place to report a hacker, valve have nothing to do with this game only if it had vac... U have to report in the game after the match ends.

That menu appears before game starts. Also for proper report i need steam id 64 and proof that is later send through DbD forums to their moderators to check it out. To get it i need steam profile. Thank you for your message, but it does not help me.

It's a bug, not an intended feature.

But wait...if you want to report him additionally on the official support page of Dbd you need his steam ID, which you can only generate over the link of his profile!!
Shiii- I just noticed that NOW! How do we send proof vids like this?

You can only check survivors profiles now, In the post game menu you can click on settings and then on "Game info" or something similar. There you will get all of survivors names which you can click on.

You need to post it somewhere (since their attachment size is laughably low (like 10MB)). I used Youtube hidden file with shareable link, so everybody who got link can watch it (nobody can search for it tho). You can also use Google drive for that as well - same procedure. Upload, make it hidden with shareable link, send link to them via protocol when reporting cheater.
I used it once to ban a guy who was trying to sell me account boosting (he wanted my steam pass for that xD ).

I read that they removed it so people can't write toxic things on other people profiles. Idk if it is true

I hope. but many ppl say that it's a feature because ppl would give -reps on profiles and would harase them.
only game where I would get any comments on my profile now doesn't have this option so... also there wans't anything in 'known issues' about it.
and I don't see how this is better, cuz there aren't only -reps sometimes there are also +reps and there is always option to make coments private or get rid of them

That is why you need to do the ingame report... then follow it up with a support ticket including the video.

All that info is on their servers now. The ingame sends in all the required details on the players and the chat logs. Otherwise why would they require you to include that for every report.

If you don't do the ingame report then you might aswell forget it.

FYI, all those details are in the logs aswell.

EDIT: You should also ask the official forums, so if there is an issue everyone is aware of it... And then everyone will also know they can't be reported if they still require that in the video.

I know how to do the video, but that is useless if I don't have the steam-ID of the guy who cheated. The video will only tell the steam-name, but that's not enough identification.
Last time I reported (which is a while back) I needed the link of his profile, otherwise there's no way you can identify the player. If you can't check his profile, you can't report him on the official page outside the game, video or not. And we all know how much the ingame-reporting does (nothing).

im so glad this stopped. i always stopped playing once i reach red ranks because thats where the heavy insulting on prifles start.

now i can play against the "better" players without having kids spitting on my profile.

of course for reporting hackers this is bad, record some of his footage and mail it to bhvr, nvidea has a build in record tool.

This wasn't meant as an answer, I was wondering the same thing as you xD

No for realz, if this is a bug, they need to remove it asap. Otherwise the hacking will go out of control. If it isn't a bug and intended, then that sucks, I guess.
