Hag and Mousewheel
I've noticed that majority of the hag's recently assing her teleport to Mousewheel, now spinning the mousewheel is way less exhausting than repeatedly tapping ctrl every second. But mouswheel counts as many many "clicks" in one spin of the mousewheel, making teleporting happen the millisecond you set off a trap.

Unless you're a pro CSGO player with 100ms reaction times, you're very rarely likely to even be able to react.

I just wanna ask how this is fair, and you can bring up SWF and how unfair that is, I personally play Solo majority of my times and very rarely use Comms(not very comfortable for me to do) and etc, etc, etc.

In my opinion it's blatantly unfair, feel free to voice yours, I'd love to hear all of your opinions.

I mean since the key only triggers the teleport and repeated clicks don't speed up the process of the teleport animation chances are it has less to do with what key they are using than it just being hag mains who are experienced enough to know when to swing when coming out of a teleport. It's like changing the struggle key binding so you don't have to deal with clanking your spacebar while you play.

Survivors can (and do) bind struggle to mousewheel.

Who cares, people can change their controls.

I see no problem with that.
Swift Jun 17, 2020 @ 4:47pm
and you consider changing controls unfair? you know that you could use macros to make it 3x times faster right?
MrFlaptastic Jun 17, 2020 @ 4:53pm
The Hags themselves have to react to the trap being set off. Some of them have great reaction times, but I doubt all of them are scrolling their mouse wheel every second of the match.

I get told I'm using a Hag macro constantly when to be honest I just have quick reflexes. I'm sure a lot of Hags do rebind to scroll wheel, but not all of us fall into that category.

How exactly is it blatantly unfair? You can bind different hotkeys yourself.

I see all of your points so I'll reply to all in one.

"Changing controls isn't unfair" Making hag traps almost impossible to react to, assuming you're just casually scrolling your mousewheel back and forth, you'll teleport instantly, giving the survivor barely if any chance to dodge, let alone register they set a trap off.

Do I consider changing controls unfair? No that's not what I was saying, it's making teleporting be instantaneous that's unfair, are you not supossed to have a second to react?

It's pretty easy to tell if some one has quick reflexes and is just scrolling their mouswheel, because scrolling your mouswheel is just one step under macro, consdering you're registering many many clicks by 1 mouswheel scroll.

"You can bind different hotkeys yourself" Yeah I can, but I don't. Because I believe it's unfair in a scenario like with Hag.

"Survivors can bind struggling to mousewheel" Sure, some do. I don't. It's cheap. But doesn't affect any one near to the extent of teleporting to traps in an instant does.

If you're gonna bind teleporting to your mousewheel, you're gonna spin it repeatedly, otherwise you'd just hit ctrl, which defeats the point of binding it to the mousewheel, you do it so you can casually keep spinning it to insta teleport, your pinky finger is already on Shift/Control when you're using WASD, you bind it so you can teleport as fast as possible.

Also what-about-ism isn't exactly a good argument, that being said I still respect all of your opinions.

yea it needs to be tonned down a little. but its also something they cant outright remove. mostly beacuse people with disabilities that cant mash would have a hell of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time mashing a button but can scroll (my friend with cerable paulsy for one, cant do button mashing so he needs these kinda things to play)

should you be able to teleport instantly? no it should have a cap to max presses like every mash prompt should. but it cant be removed.

Yeah, which is why Struggling has a macro counter, if you mash the struggle button fast enough it stops counting and you die.

And I hope your friend is doing well. :)

Ok but at the same time even if they set the key binding to an actual key they are still going to be mashing that key in order to get the teleport ASAP until they become experienced enough to get down the exact timing when they hear a trap go off. So in the end you are going to get the same result of a hag being right in your face as soon as you trigger a trap ready to smack that ass because they are either putting in multiple inputs from that keybinding or they are just that experienced. The mouse scroll is just the option that is the least tiresome on your finger and a lot quieter too.

And yes there is always going to be the gloomy cloud that hangs over this discussion that is SWF. You can call it what-about-ism and all that but the fact is that it does provide a huge advantage if it's done with voice communication which is only achievable by using third party platforms. So when this is a generally accepted practice then mouse scroll hag simply is not a huge deal considering that it's achievable within the game itself.
