Why does the Wraith's light burn mechanic still exist?
Looking back at the Wraith (lol), how come they never removed the flashlight cloak stun? All it does is punish the Wraith for sneaking up on survivors. I feel like it should have been removed like the ability to sabotage Trapper's traps.

What do you guys think? Maybe I'm wrong, but none of the other stealth killers get so helplessly melted by flashlights.:DSTskull:

Because you can't really see where his eyes are when he's invisible, which would otherwise make him immune to flashlights half the time and the perk lightborn even MORE useless.

Lightburn doesn't require you to blind them, it requires you to have the flashlight on them while they are cloaked.

Exactly? What I'm saying is, lightburn exists because when Wraith is invisible you can't aim for his eyes very well.

Why would anyone need to blind the Wraith in his most harmless state? Unless you're out in the open, there should always be a pallet or window to make it to by the time he finishes uncloaking. I feel like the lightburn is just overkill.

I have always asked this question too. Such an archaic mechanic making an already mediocre killer gutted by a scrub running around with a flashlight. His power isn't really anything special and it can be severely punished.

As survivor (I run plunder's + Ace), when I get a sick flashlight outta a chest, that Wraith is gonna have a REALLY bad time.

Because to play Wraith is to punish yourself.

I find it weird that you can do this to the nurse, too.

Just why

Make his head glow when 00.1% of light is on him

Lore, ghosts and spirits are all burnable to flashlights, that's why Hag loses her traps (being phantom traps), the only killer that doesn't get any burn is spirit for some reasons, I always thought that canonly she should also have that

Anyway lore aside, it's kinda a stupid mechanic indeed, but I don't see how it ruins the game, it only requires Wraith to uncloak behind objects

It doesnt ruin it at all. It's easy to avoid for Wraith, and attempting this on a Nurse that isnt a baby is just suicide

I feel like to compensate, lightburn should take longer to perform. After all the wraith can't attack you while cloaked and he takes a while to uncloak. He even slows down while uncloaking, giving you enough time to make a quick get-away.

Wraith doesn't have anything going for him apart from being able to cloak, so why are flashlights able to stun him so easily while cloaked? It makes him almost useless, you might as well be a Trapper without any traps. I think it'd be fair to increase the time it takes to burn him with flashlights, since the Wraith literally can't do anything while cloaked anyway and he can't even look away like with being blinded.

There's no counterplay for a Wraith.

Wraith needs to fail at his reason for existing.Stealth hitting a survivor
Wraith is 2 shot 5.3speed across HUGE maps.Flashlights take away toolboxes allowing him the necessary patrol time
Flashlights vs wraith allow the no heal meta as a stealth killer
Its more fun then going up to a survivor 360ing their camera and unavoidable getting hit twice

Lightburn requires a lot of charges already and it's easily avoidable.
