but otz is heavenly nice player and good player.
like 90% of the time vs a good killer locker plays wont work cause
1- the super obvious visual and audio cues of a survivor entering one
2- if a killer has half decent headphones he can hear your survivor breathing in the locker
now i would not say "Never" use them as there are situations where locker play can indeed pay off and i definitely would never go as far as being toxic over that "or period cause you know unlike half the dbd community i behave like a decent human being" and dont just turn in to a monkey over any tiny thing
as for otzdarva he has become a bit of a meme in the community "the good type of meme not the bad kind" due to his advice and how calm he is even when being tilted here is a link

but in general locker plays are looked down upon since
how many times have you had where you are on the hook and that damn dwight "Locker dwight" is sitting in a locker half-way across the map NOT DOING A GEN while the killer is nowhere near?
but again play however you want and lockers are not 100% useless as many think just...situational
the only time i personally would ever reccomend lockers is if you are using quick and quiet as it can catch people off guard as its not exacly a every-day occurence "i know i have fallen for it in the past and will in the future probably" but even then...
Locker's are just special because they mean you have few options to play them with..and are a gamble..where for killer they are a grab and time saver if they do.
That is it..using locker is just about making it a good plan for you..like to avoid BBQ, activate head on..avoid Doctor's big shock wave..
Using Locker is more..careful then anything. It is something to be careful with. But if you have reason to use it, then do that.
If you play soloqueue you are probably the only player going in lockers to counter bbq. Thereby you just send the killer to your teammates who dont go in lockers because they are not afraid to get chased. Also you will never get better in chase if you keep avoiding killers like that. In my opinion you are just wasting time and sandbagging your team.
Lockers in general aren't bad if you're not giving any information to the killer outside of the locker. (IE: Are you near a generator that has progression?)
It can also avoid BBQ, but it becomes a gamble. Think of it from a killer perspective if they don't have BBQ or see 0 survivors. Probably patrol the hook a little bit before going off to a generator, and they may very well come to your generator regardless.
I am beginner to the game (only rank 4) so trying to learn.
Thanks, I have removed Head On and banned myself from ever entering a locker in ANY circumstances.
Thanks for your insight and input.
The fact that he thinks rank means anything just tells me that he doesn't know what he's talking about. A "true red rank"? Come on, that's just grade A cringe. Even by toxic survivor standards.
I think because of this Survivors who are hooked will see your aura leave a locker and incorrectly assume you've been spending an inordinate amount of time in the locker.
They don't clue in that you just hopped in quickly so you're not punished for their mistake.
Otherwise it seems like the better survivors don't hide in lockers for the most part, unless maybe they're hiding to try for a hatch or Inner Strength like I mentioned above. Like other people said, lockers are risky - if the killer sees you enter one or hears you in it or sees your tracks leading up to the locker and stopping then there's a good chance they'll check the locker and your screwed.
Only time i see them being useful is to dodge a Legion or Nurse lunge after using their abilities.
