Why not just have a separate game for the PTB?
It would be much better if you could just boot up the PTB version to test out the new stuff and then go back to the normal game so you could just update the PTB version instead of updating the normal game twice to switch between normal game and PTB.

My favorite part is where I install 2gb in a few minutes but then I have to wait 40 minutes for the game to actually be playable
