Am I the only one who thinks dbd is too difficult for casual players, playing as survivor?
I'm frustrated about the fact that dbd is way too difficult while playing as a solo survivor. I estimate my escape rate is a 1/10 which doesn't sound fair to me. This game most of the time, ruins my day because of toxic killers. I think the ranking system is the biggest flaw in this game. With only about 200hrs of dbd I'm still really bad... I know I'm pretty bad and if I survive, its because other players will carry me. Why do I have a red rank while at the same time I'm always dieing. This should be fixed so its more fun for the casual gamer. I hope I can find some like minded people through this forum...

Thanks everybody

Because maybe, and just maybe, you're not actually meant to escape every single game.

There is a very steep learning curve coming in, especially because of the derank system alot of the time you are playing with very skilled players that have dropped to low ranks over time.

You just need a better understanding of the games mechanics and it will come naturally. Group up with someone on discord and have them walk you through a few games in survive with friends group and things will make more sense i think.

Also id consider watching some streamers play the game as its an easy way to learn quickly how to be good. Not even trying, your brain will pick up some of the skills that the better players do, just by watching them.

If you'd like you can add me and ill see what i can do to help. We prolly shouldnt play together though because i only get high rank killers at my rank and that means you would too i think..Maybe not. We could try.

It is a surprisingly competitive game, I've played survivor more than killer and I've had encounters with toxic killers sometimes but it was less common than toxic survivors(on my team or me as killer). The higher up the ladder you go, the more toxic it seems to become.

You could just try to get better at survivor or try to play killer and see it from both perspectives.
A lot of those killers if they're toxic, it's probably atleast partly from abuse from toxic survivors.

Maybe learn to loop better or better times to do things. I like to watch Tru3Talent play DBD, if you watch him you might also pick up somethings.

i recently began playing DBD again since before they added all these new killers. like brand new and probably only touched it a few times. i recently have picked it back up and have been playing for the better part of a week? i looked up videos on both sides and have joined games to be a better killer and survivor. i consider myself casual because i have never played this game for so long so frequently. i dunno jus my two cents i guess. i dont think its too hard.

Solo player is unplayable nowadays.

You answered yourself. Youre carried; youre not red rank.

Also, and more importantly, youre red rank and admit your skill level - which I can say is evidence that survivor is in fact, easy, or you wouldnt be in red ranks and saying this stuff.

It is EASY to pip and rank up as a survivor. Thats the emblem system; thats the established measurement of success.

Why? Because by the devs word, 2 survivors should be dying every round. If youre dtying and pipping, thats the very definition of EASY. Especially when a killer can 2K and LOSE rank.

Crazy how I can stay in red ranks with essentially no effort then, eh? I dont even think Im "good"; just vaguely competent.

Yeah mate Shoeshine, you're right. There is a lot of toxic players (not in the chat, it's the way to play). 200hs is more than enough to judge. You re perfectly an average player, no one can say how many hours you must play. It should be fair in all skill tiers. Maybe you are noob just like me, with 3 months, 500hs played, but you deserve to play a fair game and to complain if that's not the case.

Im not saying matchmaking, balance and fairness are easy to fix, but it must be fixed. I feel there's a certain system for new players that's working just fine, to some extent, to be improved. But later, you start facing the worst tunnelers, tryharders trying to just win whatever it takes. And suddenly all the fun is gone.

Best wishes, be happy.

Yeah, if you want to play in red rank as killer, you have to tryhard

Ranks mean nothing, you are probably another potato red rank survivor cos everyone is red rank nowadays with their ranking system.
Doesn't change the fact than when you face a great killer or a tryharding one as solo survivor you die.
That's what I look at when I say it's unplayable. U stand almost 0 chance against a great killer or one playing dirty with 3 randoms.
If u just look at pips and staying red ranks then yes suppose it's playable.
Same for killer side though...

Cos ranks mean nothing man everyone is red ranks nowadays there is almost no rank reset on the 13th... against a great killer (as I already said) you will die.

Rank 4 is not a huge thing, easy to achieve. Give it time and you'll see.
How many hours? Me: 500h, less than 3 month, achieved rank 4 long ago, not tryharding at all.
I just want to play a fair game, with skill, strategy and fun. Ranking up is easy, not interested, not my goal.

Yeah, exactly what Cantrell said
