High ping randomly?

so i have never had ping over like 60-70 in dbd and now randomly every game im joining ( as survivor) im at 240 ping and getting hit by killers 5 metres behind me. is there anyway to fix my ping? never had this issue so i have no idea wats going on

They can hit through pallets and get no stun from pallets, thats one clear sign.

Higher the ping, the worse the hits. If you see absolutely absurd hits beyond reasonable comprehension then it's almost certainly vpn.

Gosh, mate! If this game wants to go nuts then everyone in lobby including killer will get high ping. Saw it lots of times playing both sides. It's just server/network problems.Occurs randomly though. Since devs added dedicated servers to the game if killer wants to turn some kind of vpn/torrent/whatever it will only spoil his game as it will become almost unplayable to him. Yeah, they do not work as intended sometimes. Pretty good job so far and so on.

Yeah vpn are fine but someone vpn's from across the world to your region with 300-600 ping and you will soon see what i mean.

The complete opposite of what you said actually, Killer turns on a vpn in game or torrents then he gets a massive advantage even on dedicated servers.

Actually high ping mit be due to the broken game logic. It just tries to create a playable lobby for the players from different timezones. So if you will get into a lobby that has chinese, italian and russian players at the same time there you shouldn't be surprised to see ping over 300. Just wait a bit or try to find another lobby.
