Be ready to provide the output of a dxdiag.
~Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010
Run DXSETUP.exe
I have a solution, go into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dead by Daylight\EasyAntiCheat\Localization and drag everything out of the folder but don't delete it. (U need it late)
Then go and start the game, it'll start at the beginning but then it'll get u to close the game. After closing the game, drag the files u dragged out of the folder from before back in the original folder.
Now everything should work perfectly fine.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2019
Run both VC_redist.x64.exe and VC_redist.x86.exe and choose install or repair, then reboot and then see if you're good to go
If you verify game file integrity that'll replace it for you
I get "DeadByDaylight-Win64-Shipping.exe - System Error" at the top of the error and "The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140_1.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.
Now I have tried everything suggested here and still can't get the game to run. I have also cleared the general steam cache and tried using run as administrator.
Try doing a reinstall all your Microsoft C++ redists one at a time they're located by default here: ~Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\vcredist
Just go through each folder and run them as Admin one at a time and pick the repair option, once they're all done restart your computer and try again.
Did you try deleting the EAC folder located by default here:
~Steam\steamapps\common\Dead by Daylight
Then clear your Steam download cache:
Steam Settings --> Downloads --> Clear Download cache
Restart Steam and then immediately verify gamefile integrity of Dead By Daylight. Steam --> Library --> Dead By Daylight --> Right click select properties --> Installed Files --> Verify GameFiles
Then try firing up the game see if that does the trick.
