In my perfect world, I would be able to play with my friend, but not be able to know exactly where he is, if the killer is there, and what he is doing; thus, giving us that uncertainty that makes the game excitingly unpredictable.
Intended feature? I get vc with kyf, but sfw with voice coordination is cheating. This is not CS, TF2 or other games where both sides can coordenate. That's why I don't even bother with swf groups. As soon as they join I just leave and create a new lobby.
That's only proves that communication and teamwork was intented in this game.
And everything that players can say here is not important, because dev's see their game like this - with voice chat and combined efforts of the survivors. You just have to deal with it, and if you don't have anyone to play with - well, this game isn't for you then, because it is not ballanced for solo players.
That would be really nice.
But the bit about immersion is still true. As I understand, they didn't want the noise and aural ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that comes with the voice chat. You know, the squaking kids yelling at you to rush B.
I agree, but in my humble opinion would solve nothing, since every SWF would still use teamspeak/whateverVoIP. And even worse, randoms would coordinate also and I can imagine them playing music for trolling, like in rust (I really enjoy it in that game, but different atmosphere).
Edit:
And this, +1.
Thanks for publicly shaming me...
This has nothing to do with stupidity on my part and I find it quite insulting that you think this. I just said what the devs have said in a stream a long time ago to questions about why there is no direct ingame chat function. That has nothing to do with Survive with Friends as the devs can't control how SWF people communicate or IF they do or not.
They definitely don't want complete strangers to communicate with one another, be it ingame chat or ingame voice chat. They gave in a little bit by providing gestures.
Now, if you're finished insulting my intelligence, go and rewatch some of the old dev streams and they you may realise why I answered that other post the way I did.
