Yep. Also same people that get angry when you noed/mori/camp hooks once you see whats going on.
That's if you're already in sight range of the Gate. If you're elsewhere on the map, and come to check the gate and it's at 99, that isn't "a couple seconds" that you've lost out on, it could easily be 30 or even a minute that the timer should have been ticking down.
Yeah, that's the most obvious solution, but the devs have said they don't want full regression because it would make it too easy for mobile killers like Billy and Nurse to just run back and forth scaring people off. I think it'd be fine if it just regressed to the nearest 10. Like, at 99 it regresses to 90, at 86 it regresses to 80, etc. That way survivors dont lose all their progress if they get zoned off, but they also can't simply cheat the system and make EGC not exist.
