It needs to last longer or not be tied to the obsession.
It is a great mobile insidious, and in some cases, a great on-demand tinkerer. I use it with Distressing to give survivors a really confusing terror radius to deal with.
But yeah, even then, it is another perk countered by SWF, so avoid to use it against groups of 3 or 4.
Just my opinion thou'. Have a good one.
Maybe on obsession hits it lasts 20 / 30 / 40 seconds more but other survivors are just 20.
Or It lasts forever on the obsession until you hit someone else, which then does its 20 seconds, followed by cooldown.
Also anyone tried it with doc? because the madness gaining is actually based to how close you are to the doc rather than terror radius.
At least with Indidious your are in control of the perk. You can chose to use it and end it whenever you want. There are just so many conditions for Dark Devotion to be usefull. You need to hit your Obsession, with you basic attack only and there need to be another survivor for you to reach wihtin 20 seconds.
As it is, its certainly a fun perk to spook a survivor or two, but really not a good perks for the killer to make any significant use. Not with the current numbers anyway.
That is a very interesting question. Unfortunatly I just barely unlocked it and haven't found it yet in the doc's bloodweb. It could be an interesting gimmick for doc if it works, or be completly worthless for him if it doesn't.
