Pale Rose is a joke for Killers
And I say this both from the perspective of a high ranked Killer and a high ranked Survivor. I've frequently played the new map.

When I was a Survivor, I escaped every single time, most of them unscathed, because the Killer is usually fully occupied with catching even one of us to be able to chase all four effectively.

When I was a Killer, I would usually find 1 Survivor after a long time, chase them around for ages and when I would finally down them, all gens were done. There was one game where I got lucky enough to kill all four of them and that was mostly because they screwed up with their rescue attempts (SWF of course).

Not even to speak of the catastrophe this map presents to the Nurse as she can't even blink through the grass.

I really like this map from the looks and feel of it, but if ever a map was favoured to Survivors, this is it. Disturbed Ward and Lampkin Lane are a stroll in the park in comparison (which they actually are for me as I have no trouble on those maps).

This map needs some reworking done to make it fairer. It's not bad that there are some maps who are a bit favoured to one side (Disturbed Ward, Lampkin Lane and Blood Lodge to Survivors and Shelter Woods, Wreckers Yard and Rotten Fields to Killers), but a map that is this strongly favoured to one side, should not exist.

Don't get me wrong. I'm all for keeping the map and also every other map, but this one definitely needs some rework.

EDIT:

Ok. I've played it again a couple of times as Killer. It seems that I do fine on that map under ONE circumstance: having a tryhard SWF lobby on it, you know, the kind that just have to save everyone from the hook and literally swarm them.

Each time I had such a group, all four of them ended up dead for concentrating on saving rather than on sacrificing a colleague and repairing gens.

Still, that can't be the way to go with this map.

I don't see how you can find this map survivor sided. There's almost no windows or pallets, so if you're seen and get injured, good luck.

Unless you're going up against a nurse, or they take out all your hooks, it's pretty killer favored.

I don't see how you can find it Killer favoured. It's very easy to stay hidden on that map. Of all the games I've played on it, the Killer only ever found one of us and never even saw the rest uf us. There's no need for pallets and windows, there are enough hiding spots and unless you get lucky as a Killer, 4 gens are done by the time you find the first one.

Meh, I haven't seen the new map too much but it seems huge. No infinites at least, and all the gens are really spread apart. All that mist and the reeds make it hard to get a sightline on people, which makes sense since the map is huge but tbh I'm a big fan of the new map. The devs finally made a map that isn't only viable for the killer the map came with.

Idk mate there isn't much where the survivors can run to like on other maps, and pallets are exhausted pretty quickly, tbh it's my favorite map on both sides atm.

There's no need for them. It's very easy to hide and stay hidden.

I find that whenever I'm chasing someone and lose sight of them for a few seconds it's very hard to track them down again as the scratch marks spawn underneath the grass and are very hard to see. Very easy to make a wrong turn and they escape.

My point exactly.

I enjoy the map both as Killer and Survivor, and as a Rank 1 Killer, after playing three rounds of it as Killer, I'm not seeing the issue. Pallets are too spread out on one part of the map, there's no way to window juke efficiently without relying on the docks, and the only hiding place is the thicker but fewer reeds.

Plus, I use the boat to my advantage, if I hear the crows then I charge over there. Otherwise, Whispers excels at this map.

Too bad I haven't used Whisper in like forever.

I must agree with OP .. I've escaped 9 times from 10 games
This map is really harder to play as the killer.. And the biggest joke is that
I have infinite Granma's Cookbook offering ...

It's very easy to lose the killer/not get seen on that map sure, but once you are, you're dead.

The issue with this map, is how spread out the hooks and generators are, which is one of the issues I have with it as killer.

My only real complaint with this map is that all of the gens are so spread out that you can't really keep pressure up.
Runiver Dec 13, 2016 @ 5:46am
Well, to have an opinion about that map, I would like to at least PLAY it. I had it 3 times so far, over 20 hours of play.
Michi Dec 13, 2016 @ 5:48am
Its my favourite map atm. It contains almost all elements from other maps + new,, events".I hope we will get more variations soon.
I also have no problem to kill 4 rank 1 on this map or survive as a rank 1 surv on this map i think it's pretty balanced for both sides

I'd agree if Asylum also didn't have its gens spread out. I find the gens to be just the right distance for me at least.
The Asylum is way better then the pale Rose on that front. Especially since there are 2 gens right next to each other guaranteed.

What counters the size of maps like Disturbed Ward and Lampkin Lane is all the clutter that there is and in case of the former, the big ass building right in the middle that is a prefered hiding spot. There's nothing like that on Pale Rose. The ship is too small to make the same impact as the Asylum does.
