Dead by Daylight

Killer Idea: The Captain/The Fisherman
Ability: The Captain has a harpoon gun with a rope tied to the spear, which has the ability to hit survivors from a distance, upon a successful hit the killer will be able to pull the survivor closer for a limited time, when hit the survivors can shorten the timer by mashing space. If a healthy survivor is hit it will inflict the injured affect on them, however it will not inflict dying upon hitting an injured survivor.

Teachable Perks:
-Sailor's Curse: If a survivor fails a skill check, their aurora is revealed to the killer for 2-4 (edited) seconds.
-Batten Down the Hatches: Damaging a generator will disable the ability to repair it for 10-30 (edited) seconds.
-Hex: Dead Men Tell No Tales: When cleansed, the survivor will become the killer's obsession for 2-5 minutes, if caught and downed during this time, the killer will be granted the ability to kill the survivor who disabled the active totem.

Map: a dark gloomy island setting with broken ship parts and supplies scattered around.

Bio: Sherman Engelward lived his days in a small town by the ocean. One day him and his crew would sail out, never to be seen again. They set out and got caught in one of the nastiest tropical storms they'd seen, the boat was destroyed and the surviving crew members had managed to make it back to a small deserted island. With little to eat they all began growing weaker and weaker. Weeks had gone by and some of them crew members began descending into madness, becoming more and more desperate still with no way off the island, hardly any food, and almost no hope of being rescued. Finally, after having enough of it, Sherman could bear the starvation no longer. He took the only thing he could scavenge from the night the ship crashed, his harpoon gun, and butchered his fellow surviving shipmates for food.

Neat idea, "Sailor's Curse" and "Batten Down the Hatches" are too op. Sailor's Curse's time needs to be decreased, and "Batten Down the Hatches" is need need of a extreme decrease. It needs to be 10-12-15 secs per tier. I do like it though.
So we're ripping from games not even out yet?

I didn't even know that game was a thing lmao

Edit: Just looked it up, seems interesting.
There can be only one Obession - So, if someone becomes the Obession, and the Survivor, who's not the Obession cleanses the Hex totem for Hex: Dead Men Tell No Tales, then that Survivor can't be the second Obession.

Batten Down seems to be way too overpowered, especially in the hands of experienced Sally.
Now, add Ebony Memento Mori to it, and see the result - Hopeless Survivors.

Sailor's Curse is OK, but because there are way too many of other less situational Perks, it would be rarely used, just like Iron Maiden from The Legion.

His Power doesn't make sense.
If I imagine shooting someone with a harpoon, it is usually a very critical injury, able to kill that person, if you hit him / her to the head / back / one of the arteries / belly.

- What about his speed - X m/s.
- Terror Radius? X - 32?
Survivors will complain. No dice

First two perks, yeah maybe that is a bit much, fixed that. Maybe no obsession on the third? I dont know about that one. I think you're nitpicking a bit on the harpoon gun, cause if dbd were anywhere near realistic, I think stabbing someone, impailing them on a hook, throwing a hatchet at them, slashing them with a bonesaw, shocking them with electricity repeatedly, etc would be enough to kill somebody. Guess anything is possible in the entity's realm. As for speed and terror radius, not sure, I'll leave that up to the community in this discussion.

It's dead by daylight, the devs could solve all the balance issues and make this a perfect and flawless game (yeah, like that'll ever happen) someone, whether they're a survivor or killer, is always gonna be there to complain.
