What is farming in DBD?
I've heard people use the term "farming" in youtube videos but I'm not quite sure what that means... can someone help me out? I'm fairly new.

Farming - when a survivor is hooked and another survivor unhooks that survivor in front of the killer, where the killer then hits and rehooks that survivor.

What is it actually
Well there are two types, the negative version is what most folks call it when someone is hooked and another survivor just blindly runs in and unhooks the survivor without any regard for where the killer is or what they can do, like putting the hooked survivor between you and the killer for example when you are unhooking and you are just doing it so you get some altruism blood points.

Then there is the other type where the survivors and killer just screw about doing things to get BP, dropping all the pallets, breaking em, hitting and healing, double hooking to give killer points and usually a pip, etc. Lol Just basically everyone gets their points and then by the end survivors either escape and killer still gets a pip or everyone sacrifices themselves after getting a pip themselves.

Well, usually goes about any number of ways, a survivor that is trying to signal you/the killer they want to farm and you can choose to if you want to. If you are the killer best way I see to farm is pick one of the strong ones like LF or Billyboi and one shot someone and then try to let em know you aren't going to kill em in some way, like down em and drop em near a generator, or if you get two at once you can hook one and then motion for that one to unhook the other, etc. Lol Just have seen killers and survivors do a variety of ways to try and signal. The most obvious being when four survivors join with obvious names with farm in em and then use a bunch of BPS/cake. xD

The only way for him to farm against randoms is for them to allow him to farm. Typically they just hit a generator a few times but if they are Wraith they signal they want to farm by repeatedly ringing the bell repeatedly. Survivors will either let him hit them and they farm or the survivors will just ignore it.

Yeah, usually if it is the latter, or just in general if the killer doesn't get much any hits/hooks/etc I will stay behind and try to drop pallets and such and then suicide, I think the main time I don't suicide at the end anymore is just if I happen to find like a purple item and I want to keep it. Lol
