Why all the hate towards Ghostface?
So I recently picked up ghost face and I've been having a pretty good time with him. He's really fun to play assuming your not matched against really good survivors. But ever since I picked him up I've been getting WAY more toxicity then I used to with huntress and I'm not even doing as well on GF as I used to on hunt.

I constantly get people harassing me in post game just for picking GF. Why is this? I was under the impression that he was just a middle of the road killer.

I'm a GF main since he got released so I think I can easily tell you why some people hate him so much.

1. His height
Unlike most of the other killers GF is pretty short, which makes it harder to loop him around some loops with high walls + he can hide his red stain and he can also crouch which makes looping even harder.

2. His power
Playing against GF as a survivor can make you pretty paranoid and frustrated, because he can sneak up on you and stalk you without you even noticing or he can just get a "cheap" (surprise) hit or even a gen grab and that makes him pretty op on indoor maps + his power is kinda broken, sometimes you can break him out of his power pretty easily and other times you can look directly at him and nothing will happen (thanks to dedicated servers). He's also the only killer that can properly t-bag survivors.

3. His look, lore and behaviour (this one really depends on what kind of a person the survivor is)
If you look at GF, he's nothing more than a normal dude in a mask with a knife that likes to stalk, torture (mentally) and murder people. It also feels more personal when he's chasing someone, because of the change from simply walking to running, which makes it seems like he's very determined to get that one person. His mori is also very personal since he's literally mocking the person he's killing by taking selfie with them to remember the moment right before they die.

4. People who play as him
Since he can t-bag and his power allows him to camp hooks, people can go max toxic as him. I never met a single toxic GF but I can imagine what it's like to go against a GF that slugs everybody and then t-bags them as they slowly bleed out on the ground (I did it once to a toxic red rank swf)

That's all, hope it helps to answer your question
And for those reasons I love him

I would legit mori someone and they'll get mad at post-game chat. Which I follow up by posting that screenshot and sending it to their profile.

Regarding his power: what you describe is pretty much true for all other stealth killers. What does create hate for it is the fact that it is wonky as hell. And yes, both the killer and survs suffer from this fact. It is either survs spotting you across what feels like half the map or them starring at GF, him not getting exposed and them getting downed one second later.

One thing I had to learn that when GF looks over cover it is no use to expose him by looking at his face. An insurance mechanic the devs had to put in so the entire side-peak mechanic would not be redundant.

A lot of people simply don't want to learn how he works, and they get bodied by him. If they simply learned how to run away instead of staring at a GF leaning from behind cover, they'd be way more likely to survive.

I've had a bunch of folks complain that they couldn't break me out of stealth when I didn't have my shroud up. They call him broken because they stood in the middle of a field and let me just slap them without doing anything to avoid it.

Because ghostface is a tunneling killer by design, if they mark they will tunnel you for at least 60 seconds trying to get the instadown, if they fail to get the insta down and get looped then they will get mad and keep tunneling.

naaah, depend how you use ghostface:
1 play with mark: essentially you mark someone and try to downing that survivor just like you said
2 play like a wraith without cooldown, in that case you can be more dangerous (and made more points cause you won't instadown anyone)

Meh,not buying this unless all the people that harass you are grey-yellow ranks.I love playing as GF and against him and he is not the killer that usually collects salt. They probably comment on your profile for you own playstyle and not because of GF.

Honestly his power is very cheap. One shots are bullcrap, at least with billy you have to land it and your mobility is limited but with ghost face you just have to stalk and you can do it WHILE IN CHASE! Which should not be a thing once the chase music start his power should be disabled I shouldn't have to keep panning the camera behind. Your not stalking me.. I KNOW YOUR THERE.

Sometimes ill flip the camera and he'll just get it anyways.

I can't stand him. He's the most tedious killer to face. Playing against him isn't fun, it's a chore. "How long can I twirl my camera around before he gets his free one-hit down".

I'm glad to see that people have been complaining about him since even two years ago. That's all I have to say before this old thread gets locked.
Agarillobob 8. jan. 2023 kl. 12.40
ghost face can tea bag
survivors hate it

His power is frustrating for survivors. The reveal mechanic is inconsistent and seems to rely on how far the killer is VPN'ing from. I had a red bar ghostie walk towards me in the open with nothing between us and i could not reveal him.

As a survivor main, GhostFace is pretty fun to go against. I actually enjoy the fact I have to look for him constantly. What I don't enjoy, is going against the same GF streamer main 6 times in a row at night, that is when it gets boring. Able to tell who it is instantly because they play the exact same way every time.

Con about going against him, if you're not marked there is a 50/50 chance that you can't break him out of his stealth. It's a weird hiccup that is kind of aggravating. Otherwise fun imo.

Play who you wanna play and don't worry about salty survivors. We all get a little salty sometimes. As others have said just turn off post-game chat. I know this is hard to do, I like saying ggwp! and telling everyone to have an awesome day, even when I lose.. but some times it's just not worth the mental gymnastics to read.

I just miss the old chase theme before they put it into one theme :(. Need back my old GF chase theme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bw_EvCu0cDk&t=201s

The best way to play gf is really boring to play against.
Once you are 99 stalked as a survivor - even if you realised you got stalked - there is nothing you can do. If you try to get in his way to take a hit he just waits a few seconds for his power and you are toast. He can quite literally stalk you in the beginning of the match, get looped for 5 gens where you dont see him and then you get downed at the end with no interaction with the killer whatsoever.

I understand the grudge people have against him, but that ofc is no reason to be toxic about it
