Rich people exist I guess.
Like...why. He plays that stuff on a daily basis anyway. I suppose they just wanted the cosmetics earlier than everyone else or just really really thirsted after these pixels. It's kinda funny in a way.
But THEN you pay 1 buck for each lvl. Making 70 lvls still 70 bucks. Even if you grinded 10-20 lvls you still payed WAYYY too much to get pixels earlier than you would've gotten anyway. In a community that complains about 10 dollar outfits, that's quite a large gap in your wallet. Except you're rich. Then ♥♥♥♥ it, alright.
I don't regret buying some tiers (not all 70), I wouldn't recommend it tho. It only makes me relieved that I can take a break from dbd without having the pass in mind. Wouldn't do it again. Some ppl don't buy other things and spend it on whatever they like. Nothing wrong with it, has nothing to do with being rich or not tho.
Buying games on steam is the same. Once Steam shuts down, the games are gone too.
In Monto's case it's probably for content. People wanna see the new cosmetics and since he's got a big community, he'll have the money back in not time anyways.
Thats what content creators "have to do". You see it on other games with battle passes (fortnite) aswell. Some of them said that they would love to open those buy playing, but no one really cares about their hype at that point anymore since people have already seen it by others.
Therefor its a must. Tho in DBDs case prob not the same, but its still best for content creators to get stuff out early rather than late.
Fortnite's battle pass isn't really comparable to the one in DbD.
Personally barely played Fortnite yet I'm already like level 220(which doesn't mean anything after level 100 anyway) in it due to how much stuff there is to level up. Daily challenges, Events, Missions, Weekend EXP boosts, EXP coins randomly spawning on the map. You're basically leveling up every game.
In DbD it takes around 10 games to tier up battle pass once. You need to to be in a round for at least 10 minutes to get max EXP so you basically have to play for 2 hours a day. Thankfully there are challenges and if other Levels of them give similar amount of shards as first one you will get 60 tiers from challenges alone! :D
...but for god knows what reason we have to wait 2 weeks for levels of challenges to unlock.
