Personally OP, I see SWF as a necessary evil. As you have pointed out, you either make playing with friends a simple and convenient option, or you restrict it and simultaneously lose a large amount of interest in the game while also having people plague queues looking for each other anyway. I wish it wasn't like that, as it defeats the original purpose of the game, but that's just how it is unfortunately. If it can keep the game thriving for years to come, than I don't have much to complain about.
If you are struggling you are the one doing something wrong.
So if it is a problem why dont they let the killer decide on their own if they want to play with a swf team? I mean they can still cheat. But you should not force other players to play with them and so you support cheating indirectly.
If you would be honest you would have implemented ingame voice chat as in Phasmophobia. But you did not.
And if you are sure, most players agree with swf teams and third party voice chat then why dont you give the killer this information in time while in the lobby? Why?
what you are thinking about are cheaters who use third party program to get an advantage.
I'm sick of people whining about swf when the problem is obviously cheaters.
swf is just playing with people you met on the game and want to play, the alternative being the awful matchmaking that makes the game unplayable.
If only the devs thought like you. It's obvious what the problem is, but they just want to pretend it's not an issue. I especially love that they're now insisting that the game was always intended to have voice chat, when they spent actual years admitting it wasn't intended and they wanted to balance SWF to make up for that. And then they just... didn't. And started telling us we imagined them saying it before.
