How to use firecrackers correctly?

I dropped one in a killers face as he picked up a survivor and it didn't make him drop them.

How do you get the timing correct?

I've got about 50 of these babies ready to use on my P3 Dwight.

1.5 seconds to activate. Killer must be 1-2meters away of it and looking at it.

Pretty difficult to achieve since the range is very short but cause most of the times the killer arrives and put themselves above , the flashing effect won't blind if it's under them.

Honestly, i find better uses for the firecrackers during chases. If the killer sees someone running towards him with no flashlight in hand, he's just gonna drop the guy. Extremely hard timing so better in chases

Yeah firecrackers are a bit hard to use and people severely overestimate how far their range is. I've had people drop them from so far away while I was picking someone up expecting it to work.

When I use it as survivor there has been times where it's actually made things bad for me since survivors can blind themselves with it if they aren't careful.
