Game time limits
Can we please get some sort of time limit on games? People holding game hostage is just getting worse and for some reason this still hasn't been addressed. I'm now in a game that is a record for me as it's almost 2 hours in. The last survivor just won't leave. There's no realistic way to find him as he never went near any objectives but does actively move. He just moves from locker to locker every 5 mins or so.

There should be some way to just end a match after say 45 mins without losing all your points. Why are survivors allowed to just hold games hostage indefinitely? Sure if I actively play I'm sure i could find them in under an hour but where is the fun in that? Once it's down to the hatch it's just not fun. Let the game end.

I once had a game playing as hag. Where I got level 5 devour hope. I slaughtered 3 of them and then spent the next 7 minutes looking for the bastard.

Turns out, he was in a locker in the basement, and let me tell you. Ripping out his throat was the best thing ever.

But yes. There should be a timer that starts when conditions on either side start. For survivors, like 5 min without touching a Gen or exit gate, and for killer, if they don't move for a certain amount of time.

I literratly just left the game open and went to watch TV. Came back and I was still in a match. A match normally goes maybe 15 mins. I feel like asking for a hard cut off at 45 mins has zero negatives.

They aren’t allowed to. Just report them.

Id be happy with a big timer 15/20 min is plenty i think. Fixes, waiting in gates and hatch standoff too

15 might be a bit short, that’s around the amount of time a game takes if the killer wins.

20 seems reasonable

The issue is that this encourages a playstyle that is “I escape if the timer runs out” type mentality

If the timer runs you should be killed by the entity like last year. Time run out shouldnt be escape.

But yeah maybe 20 min with extra time per gen.
I agree 20 minutes and no longer is plenty of time to kill them all or escape, any longer and its pretty obvious what is happening that shouldn't.

The suggestion I gave before was the following:

The entity grows restless with the lack of blood.
Over time, after 20-30 minutes, the killer gains a buff that allows them to read the aura and locate all living survivors, slowly expanding over a span of a few minutes until the killer can detect the survivor anywhere on the map.

Should the killer not kill them within another span of time, ~10 minutes after reading the entire map, the entity kills the killer.

I don't like time limits. Nah.

Said no one ever.
...I couldn't resist.

But in a game where it could potentially last ages due to salty survivors, or bodyblocking killers, a time limit that goes beyond the length of what a normal game lasts, and then some extra time, would not be too much to ask for.
Ideally it would have no impact on 99% of games, just the small percentage where the game lasts far too long because survivors decided to hide all the time, or killers decide you needed to stay in the basement without getting hooked.

I actually really like this concept. It doesn't even need a hard time limit and could work both ways. If the survivors don't do anything (heal, search, destroy hooks, gens) within 5 mins show their aura to the killer. If the killer doesn't do anything in 5 mins (hit someone, start a chase, break a gen) show him to survivors. Then remove the aura reading as soon as they do one of those things. During a normal game there is really no reason something shouldn't happen at least every 5 mins.
