Anti Trapper Build
Now that the rift is over, I want to figure out the best build to counter the trapper.

I'm a killer main, only playing survivor as casual fun with friends to get dailies or just BP. So, in that spirit of fun, what is the best perks, and less importantly, items/addons and offerings.

And I'm not looking for the base survivor meta. I only care about countering specifically the trapper and his bear traps. So, any ideas?

Slippery Meat, Small Game, Saboteur and the last perk can be whatever you want, maybe that luck perk?
In terms of what item you want, any toolbox, any map with the addon that reveals the Killer's possessions.
Offering-wise, Ormond and luck offerings.

People will baulk at me saying this, but Sabo and Small Game. Technically anying that would help you escape off a hook on your own applies to traps as well, but if you really want to cripple a trapper, just go around breaking all his traps. It takes 3.3 minutes for the traps to come back, which is 210 seconds. It's very easy and possible for the trapper to run out of traps, since at most there's only 7, and be forced to exclusively only run at people and m1. Also effective to just break all the hooks too, so even if he gets you there's no where to hook.

Thinking on it, Stakeout, PTS/Leader, Resilience, and Spine Chill are fairly good for it as well, since there's a good chance you'll be injured, someone will be with you [Survivors should always do the buddy system if it's the trapper], and you'll be in the killer's TR most the game.

One thing to keep in mind, Hangman's Trick more or less trumps Sabo. It reduces the respawn by 60 seconds, but 30 of those are taken by Sabo.

Hated and camped. I had one guy running around with the sabo toolbox exclusively breaking my traps....I chased him across the map and ignored two hurt people healing just to hook that mofo and refused to let him off. After that I let the others go because my mood was ruined.

I'm bumping this because of the update removing the sabo against beartraps and the ease of reopening traps.

The best anti trapper build is being smart. You can do it with no items and no perks.
Luckly for Trapper players <1% of survivors use their brains.

I guess we take Saboteur and Toolboxes off, since the traps can no longer be broken.
