This game is actually pretty much a clicker game
Think about it...

What is it you're trying to get when actually playing the game? Both sides do different things but they are given the same things after the match, BP. You spend BP on perks, offerings, etc. to eventually level up a character, and make it better.

This is similar to a lot of clicker games. You're just getting BP to spend those on leveling up to get more BP to level up more. The prestige system is also similar to the rebirth system seen in many clicker games. It reduces a character's level to zero to make their prestige level go up and gives some bonuses when you level them up again. In the end, all you're trying to do is make numbers go up.

There is also the player level and iridescent shards, which are also just making numbers go up by playing the game. The same goes for the archives and auric cells, they're also just making numbers go up. The rank system is also just changing another number, but that one goes down.
And one last thing that makes it similar to clicker games, it's designed to be endless.

It's like a clicker game that only let you click, there's no automation, only upgrades to the clicking. The clicking in this game being...y'know, the game.

What clicker games do you play that involve running around a map using perks to avoid a killer? Last I checked cookie clicker didn't have you fending off the cookie monster while operating an illegal cookie factory in The Game.

That part of the game is just what you do to make the numbers go up. It's the crank you spin to make all the gears turn.

But I could make the same argument for an MMO. You're just doing the things to make your stats increase. That's a terrible argument for a clicker game. It's literally in the name, you need to primarily click. DBD is just not a clicker game.

Except every clicker game Ive bothered with keeps earning me points when i turn it off.

Ive also never played a clicker game where I moved and killed things in first or third person.

You are really, terribly stretching here. High?

The primary goal of a clicker game is to make numbers go up. DBD has no real overarching goal aside from making numbers go up.

That's the only difference. There's no automation, you need to work to make the numbers go up.

So...by that logic, RPG are clicker games then, right?

I mean, all I do in those is click things for points, so my character gets better, so I can click on even tougher things for even more points.

Thats the logic here, dude? Ill ask again, are you really high right now? That would make this make sense.

Most games have an achievement/reward based system. Not really sure what you're getting at..
It would be interesting to see if people still wanted to play if they got rid of all bloodpoints, shards, cells and ranks though.

I'd still play but less so. I play a lot because of the Rift. But I also play the game because I enjoy it, I hardly use bloodpoints except to replenish my addons.

What doesn't make sense about it?

We can make the argument that a wide range of genres are "actually clicker games".

Most of these are games genres that existed long before the "idle/clicker" genre.

"Therefore all almost all games are clicker games." does not make much sense as a starting premise.

Are you actually trying to use the logic that just because you use your mouse to perform in-game actions, it's a clicker game? No ♥♥♥♥ it's a clicker game just like every other game that uses a mouse, because mouses CLICK.

Also, where's the feature where I can earn offline bloodpoints? Oh, that doesn't exist because it's NOT cookie clicker? Oh, ok.

Your point is extremely illogical and stupid. Calling a game a clicker game because you click the mouse button to gain points doesn't make it a clicker game. It's also the case because you don't get benefits from clicking faster, but rather clicking in and of itself is a mechanic of the game.

Honestly, This game is almost exactly the same as Mario Kart. No differences.

I got the same vibe actually. Looping is exactly like completing laps in Mario Kart, you have to take the shortest route to be as optimal as possible. Therefore DBD is like a cart racer.

Exactly, You can also pick up power ups, Just like items in DbD.

There are also cosmetics, just like in Mario Kart. Coincidence? I dont think so.

Honestly, with this many similarities Nintendo should be looking at a lawsuit...
