Can someone explain the archives/rift please? Are the challenges time limited?

So I have been absent from the game for over 2 years now, obsiously there is a lot I've missed out and many things changed, all nothing crazy though as I will just slowly catch up. However, I've noticed that there is this new archives thing with different tier levels where you have to complete certain challenges to get bloodbpoints and unlock certain cosmetics... But what is this rift thing? Concretely the fact that it closes in "x days".

Do the challenges reser or dissappear after x amount of days? Are they time limited? Will I miss them out if I don't complete them in given time frame?

Would be nice if someone could explain so that I know what, or if, I'm missing something out by not doing them atthe given times.

the rift is like a battle pass, if you dont finish it before it ends, you cant get that stuff, as far as im aware.

so you missed the first rift, missed the neat hallowed catalyst nurse outfit and a few other things like the vial charm.

the challanges from prev archive tomes can be completed inthe 'compendium' to unlock the lore (or just look it up like i did on the wiki or youtube, hehe)

the current active tome can give you rift fragments to get things from the rift (battlepass).

Thanks @The Shape, so in terms of challenges that give bloodpoint rewards, I will be able to complete all of them when I get back to DbD at my own pace? They will be all there in the so called "compendium"?
