Interesting perk combination
Don't know if this is widely known. Since the healing nerf and every second killer running Sloppy Butcher I changed my healing perk of choice from Self Care to Autodidact.
Today I found a pretty neat combination by chance. If you pair Autodidact with Stake out, it cancels out the negative effects, even if you technically shouldn't have a great skill check due to Autodidact. Even with 0 or 1 tokens on Autodidact, if you have Stake out tokens they will get consumed and the survivor you're healing gets a normal great skill check boost and you earn your Autodidact tokens without having to deal with the negative penalty.

Again, no idea if this is a known combination, but I think it's really neat. So many people are sleeping on Autodidact, once you get to 5 tokens you heal like 80% of the entire health bar with a single skill check, it's really good now.

Yeah but that only works for the first time, correct? And wouldn't that make it so an autodidact 80% boost would be cancelled out in favor of the normal stakeout boost?

Yea, i noticed this since last chapter was released because i was running by chance both perks together. It is a good build, since the healing nerf i stopped using self care and now run:

Autodidact, Empathy, Iron Will and Dead Hard/Stake Out because i cant stand my partners losing so much time with their Self Cares.

Nah, the game is pretty smart with it, that's why I think it's intended. The first two skill checks don't have a negative penalty, just a normal "great skill check" boost, but with 2/3/4/5 tokens you simply benefit from the Autodidact increase, not the Stake out great skill check one.

Funny, that's literally my go-to build right now. Autodidact, Stake out, Empathy, Iron Will.
