New player, can't play as killer

Bought the game today, and I have yet to have a single survivor pop up when trying to find a match as a killer. Is this usual? Just trying to figure out if I should go ahead and get the refund before the window closes if it is usually going to take this long.

Rank resets on the 13th of each month. There will be more survivors on the 13th. It takes 5-10 minutes to queue up.

Maybe play as survivor a little.

Try to play survivor, if its not fun for you, refund, there is a high chance that you wont be able to play killer after event and rank reset too. I cant play killer since summer and devs still didnt fix the problem with lobbies.

The problem for new players, or else players who don't have a lot of time they can sink into this game, is that anyone who goes above rank 15 can't be dropped below that rank anymore. They did this to keep players from deranking in order to noobstomp, but that also means over 90% of the survivor playerbase is already passed rank 15 by now, leaving very little for low ranked lobbies.

You can see in the reset table that someone Rank 15 will be reset to Rank 17.

Yes, this table shows to what rank a reset would bring you to, but was this table established before or after they were talking about implementing the condition that players passed rank 15 could no longer drop below rank 15? as far as I have been made aware, this has become an addition to Dead by Daylight since a few patches ago.

You cant find the game because of the event. Devs made the dumbest event and forced survivors to play killers, thats why you cant find the lobby. Moreover it is difficult to play killer if you are rank 20, because there are very little people with rank 20. Starting from 15 ranks you will have to wait about 30 seconds - 2 minutes to find a game as a killer.

Also it depends on in what daytime you play. In my country it is 9:00 and everybody sleeping. Usual online for this game is about 25-30k people.

This is the current system, you can't derank below 15 by losing matches but the seasonal reset can still take you down all the way to no pip 20

they already had such events before , so it's not new at all , BUT they just broke all lobbies with their " can't derank after 15" and find matches at the same ranks, now at 3-4 rank killer lobby waiting is more than 25 mins, in 2016 I'd have lobby no matter what even if i am rank 1 killer and my lobby filled with 20 ranks ( yes it was often before, not fair but at least you can find games pretty quick)
