Why tf does framerate affect movement
seriously, try capping your frame rate at lower/uncapping, your movement will be affected

no, only if it's unstable/laggy. Framerate only affects skillchecks because at low fps you have to be almost frameperfect

nope, your framerate does affects your movement, 70+ frames makes 360's circles very small, 50- frames widens the circle. noob3 even played a game at 10 fps and his running speed was slower

the point of this discussion is to get an answer because i dont know why capping/uncapping your framerate affects your movement

No, thats not how framerate works, Your movement speed is not affected by framerate. Framerate is how many frames are shown on YOUR SCREEN every second. Your movement speed is a variable in the code, it is a set number, and no matter if you are playing on the most expensive computer in the world, or a 1402 Rockbox 12, you will still have the same movespeed. The only difference is how it appears on your screen.

Can confirm with this since I play on a toaster. It only affects how it looks on my screen but it's perfectly normal to everyone else.

The only thing affected is skillchecks, really.

Normally framerate has nothing to do with anything , but if you're using the more advanced D3D exploit that can tie into your clockspeed - then all I can say is GOTTA GO FAST.

depending how the game is coded. There a games out there that code is bound by. Dark souls as example. There can be things that a higher / lower frame rate can affect the game. Other example are that certain glitches only work on a very high frame rate in tomb raider and its important for speedrunning.
But my guess is that this game is not one of them. If it is I would assume perks like Dead hard behave differently.

The PhyreEngine , at the original launch of Dark Souls was not bound hence the term 5FPSTown that littered the xbox360 and PS3 gamefaqs forums. It's still amazing how badly they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up Dark Souls, while Demon Souls, despite having loading screens had more things happening at once.

Then again, it's From Software. Look at how badly they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up ACE- R Final, after making ACE games for 10+ years.

Because you have forced v-sync on console. On PC if you removed v-sync it affected jumps and roles ect. Also the damn slide down ladder glitch that killed you everytime. But youre right its not a good example. But the most known I thought.

Your right, but the movement speed is a global variable. Movement speed is declared in a script that is or is similar to the one that declares generator repair speed, unhooking time, etc. I can confirm that you can not repair a generator faster because of something in the settings. I dont speedrun anything so I dont know what glitches your talking about. But essiantially, whether or not your running at 2 fps, or 1000 fps doesnt effect integer/floats because either way the game will still be running at say 10m/s, but on your screen, because lets say you only see 2 frames per second, youll only see yourself move 5 meters every half second, instead of about 1/10 of a meter every 0.1 second. The visual time it takes to see what happen is changed, not what is actually happening.

I just tested it. Holy moly. I can understand how people think youre faster. But that is just an illussion because your low framerate. You missing so much of the animation that you keep teleporting a bit further and your brain doesnt consider it a fluent motion and more like skipping. Weird effect, but in fact your movementspeed doesnt increase nor did i notice a difference in Dead Hard other than just sawing just 1 picture of the whole dead hard animation xD.
The killer didnt needed more time to catch up to me.
But a fact is that higher framerates (over 60) causes visual bugs. (confirmed by devs)

I've had a match against a killer with horrible frame rate and it made actions like unhooking, healing, doing a gen take very long. I made sure I only clicked one at a time and held instead of the normal reaction to just tap things repeatedly.

Like they are across the map and me unhooking takes 30 secs and he pulls me off while its happening. Game didnt freeze, he was able to move around freely. Healing took more time then it would and gens progress only made it to 1/4 by the time a regular gen would be completed. I didnt remove my finger but the frames kept reverting or making no progress

the devs are so bad at making games, they managed to get your framerate to ♥♥♥♥ with gameplay.

test this yourself
do a 360 with 70+ fps
then do a 360 with 60/50 - fps

the 360's circle will be smaller with higher framerates

im also pretty sure laurie and nea both have a different type of 360 when compared to the rest of the cast
