It used to also make the map brighter for you but make you more easily blinded by flashlights, but they removed that portion from it.
Monitor and Abuse (a similar Doctor teachable perk) gives the same FoV increase when out of a chase and also decreases the size of your terror radius, but you lose that FoV increase when a chase starts and your terror radius gets bigger.
Is there a reason I feel that everything feels clearer? I can't describe it but it just feels like things are closer basically and smoother or is this all in my head? I feel like I never want to take this perk off now the game just feels visually clearer.
Also I feel Shadowborn would def be better than MA because that fov makes a big difference
I play doc. Like when people do a 360 right... on PS4 at least leave my eyesight instantly and I have to pan my camera to see them but with Shadowborn I have to pan the camera less. That's the best way to describe it.
The field of view change gives the impression of speed when in fact you still go at the same speed. It's a common technique in racing games for speed boost effects. I worked on some racing games and got to play around with the fov, it is amazing how fast you can make things feel, its a trick of perspective.
As for 360 spinners on console, I find that shiZ really hard to deal with. 80 percent of the time I'll miss them if they do that.
Don't lunge. That's the trick get close and regular swing just turn their first movement and you'll auto aim. At rank 1 everyone does this. Or do what I'm doing now and run Shadowborn. Believe me as I said before I'm not sure exactly why it help but you can see the whole movement better without having to turn as much. I think since the fov is wider, it allows you to see the entire turn more than normal because you're zoomed out a tiny bit.
It's not used for the same reasons as MA because MA loses the fov in chase. The point of Shadowborn is to keep the superior fov at all times.
The most important thing about this perk for me is that on PS4 frames are extremely bad AND it's harder to track a juking survivor not using a mouse. On PS4 if a survivor 360 or 180 degree you they vanish off the screen and you have to spin around to find them again it ruins games. WITH Shadowborn I can see wider than default. Much much wider, so therefore I can SEE the entire movement of the juke without having to pan my camera anywhere near as much.
It's completely game changing for me and I can't play the game at rank 1 on console without it at least for doc. if most top rank console killers realized this it would be meta at least on console.
Fov gone in chase also so it defeats the purpose outside a smaller terror radius.
Cool, yes I usually lunge. Thanks for the tips!
