Not really.
They make all the un-licensed DLC obtainable via playtime along with the mojority of the cosmetics. A minority of the cosmetic items are obtainable exclusively through auric cells.
The level of entitlement in this community is astonishing.
Time = Money, get that straight first of all.
And there is quite a bit of room between expecting all new content to be free, and wathcing all new content costing 30 bucks + for some cosmetics, THAT is just greed.
If you a cool with that, fine, you are the customer they want.
Imo I think this is a poor showing of the company and I will think less of them for it.
Yes, it's something most will hate hearing. Believe you me coming from WOW, I like earning cosmetics in game rather than buying it from a store.
Still, if it's something you hate, then you just simply should not buy it, no matter how 'awesome' it may look. If it's not worth the money, it's not worth investing.
This isn't the first video game to try to take advantage of releasing periodic limited time cosmetics for money, and it won't be the last.
This.
I'm actually kinda glad they did a limit to how many you can earn in the 2 weeks, as now I wont be neglecting my other adulting responsibilities by grinding DBD juice all day to unlock all 5 killers. :P
They don't look that good at all, maybe just Doctor to me is the only good one and that's it.
"via playtime"
Any idea how much playtime?
Devs know for a fact that anyone who isn't running 4-5k hours aint getting those skins, hence the auric cell packs.
They bring out skins practially every other week, a reskin is practically zero effort for developers other than a quick chat in some design room, it'll go something like this;
Product owner walks into dev office
"Ok guys, we need to have some more meg skins"
Devs look up sheepishly
"What about Nea or David?"
"Nah most streamers playing Meg we need more Meg skins"
Designer walks over, overhearing the conversation
"How about a pink shirt and some short jeans with maybe a differently textured belt and blue hair?"
Dollars appear in the Product owners eyes, he looks at the dev team
"Perfect! how long will it take to push out?"
"After lunch maybe?"
"Ok sure, oh, and be sure not to forget to put that purple WoW square around it to make it seem as if its better than the others"
Product owner leaves room, heads over to core product development team
"Hi guys, we got some new skins coming out to go along with your patch notes, hopefully the low rank survivors/killers are appeased while we nerf and change pointless ♥♥♥♥ around"
"Ok boss! Our PTR feedback is in and we've decided to pull all of our changes"
"Ah thats fine guys, the skins should tide us over until the next sprint of work and make it look like we're doing things"
Skin appears on store later that evening for a £10 auric pack
