Flashlight doesn't work?

So I'm new to this and it was only my 2nd match and I found a flashlight. A partner got grabbed and the monster was taking them to a hook. I walked in front of them and shined my flashlight in their face. They just looked at me and proceeded to the hook. It did absolutely nothing and you wonder why people think this game is a piece of ♥♥♥♥. I may be new, but even I know the flashlight is suppose to make the monsters drop your partners and stun them. So why didn't it work?

you are new, you have to time it perfectly, you probably did it too early or late.

They looked up, Aslong as you dont look excaclty at the flashlight you wont get stunned, Also this action takes around 1.5 secs depends on the flashlight

It takes timing to flashlight save against a killer, If you blind him at any part of his pick up animation it won't work. The actual blind needs to happen just after it.

i need to shine like 2 seconds so he gets blind. so u need to get the timing right. the flash needs to be finished when he finished the pick up animation else he just gets blind but does not drop the survivur. Also the killer can just slightly look up and it will not work anymore. I hope this helps u.

Well that's just stupid that there is a certain distance or if they look up. The fact that those are even thing tell me the devs are incompetent and don't deserve any money if they can't even make a simple flashlight work within 10 feet of the monster.

Flashlights have different blinding speeds. Also you need to aim at the killers Neck. Flashlight is good for saving people, but hard to use, it’s best to use it when the killer is in the middle of an animation (vaulting, destroying a pallet, picking up a survivor). You will get a notification (and points) that says “killer blinded”.

Just do a Kill Your Friends and practice the flashlight (as you can blind too early when the killer is picking up a survivor)
