Why are the survivors so UGLY?

I thought the killers were supposed to be the ugly ones, yuck.

Why does this bother me? Well, i prefer beauty over ugly any day; but secondly, and more importantly, horror movies are supposed to have your stereotypical attractive people.

Literally every classical horror movie follows this formula; okay, maybe not all, but the majority.

It is difficult to get into it when there are old men and black professors running with post op transexuals.

Immersion people! Immersion. It is important!

This isn't just about the characters being ugly either.. It is also about the lack of definable characteristics that fit their specialties.. Like, you could swap Nea's story with Meg's and you wouldn't even notice any discrepancy because they have no definable look about them. Where are your classic stereotypes from horror movies??

Or any of the other classic stereotypes from slasher movies!

You give your killers the stereotype treatment, as you should; but when it comes to the survivors you seriously drop the ball with most of them.

F13 understood this of couse, disappointing to see dbd can't succeed on that now that f13 development has stopped.

right, but do you even know why it is dead?

It died because they stopped development on it over ownership of the license, so they actually weren't allowed to proceed developing the game. It didn't die because it was a bad game.

Most people who don't like F13 just couldn't afford the big price tag, but it was a superior game to dbd by the fact that the killer actually killed people; instead of taking them to a meat hook 20 times until they finally died. Oh, and the survivors had stamina, so they couldn't just endlessly loop .

It's a game dude, the graphics were never amazing. Either way, Kate and Feng aren't badlooking at all and Claudette kind of has a cute geek look to her. The licensed characters are supposed to kind of look like their horror icon character (I don't know what the ♥♥♥♥ happened to Quentin though jesus christ).

What i want is the survivors look like they are a stereotype. I want to know who they are by looking at them.

I look at claudette and i see a black lady; i don't see a botanist who heals people and themselves.

You know what would've made sense for someone who specializes in healing? A nurse.. No, not THAT nurse, a nurse nurse. Instead we get generic black lady who looks like she was cast for diversity reasons.

The only character who really even fits their stereotype is bill; you can see just by looking at him what he is.

Look at dwight, i see a nerd, but here it says he is meant to be a leader?? Nerds don't lead, they get scared and are bullied. He looks like he got bullied, how is he a leader? It just doesn't fit.

Meg the athlete? She looks more like a farm hand from the south.

And Nea, a street artist? She looks like she just got back from a "notmypresident" protest.

David king, i admit he does fit the stereotype; and fits a movie stereotype also.

Ace doesn't look like he belongs in a horror movie tbh; not a slasher movie anyway. Maybe a movie with zombies in it or something

Feng min; asian gamer, okay..How does that fit into a slasher movie? It is like they wanted some DVA rip off character, but contextually it makes no sense... Where are the chads and staceys???

I could go on, but you get the idea.. They got the killers dead on, but the survivors lack personality, and don't really fit the genre.

Only if i try really really hard.

They're like the stock 3d models you get out of a free edition of dax or something. They just look like assets; that is how bad they are. Their appearance doesn't align well with what they actually do, and they're ugly as ffffffffffffffffffffffck.

All the effort just goes into the killers, it sucks. I mean, i play both ofc, but i'd like them to try a little harder instead of churning out ugo after ugo.

If this game were realistic, i might be able to let it go; but even then, how could you even possibly see a game like this as realistic?

Lets be honest here; DBD is meant to be a multiplayer interactive horror movie, where the players make how the story pans out. F13 handles this better of course; those who've played it would understand.. F13 isn't perfect, but it defo got the horror movie vibe much better than dbd. What DBD did right was their perk progression, and their rank system.
