Only in the beginning in lobby and at the end. You cant talk/chat in game.

Game was originally designed around playing completely alone with random people, sadly devs had to add Survive With Friends to keep the game alive

Survive With Friends. A mode where you can play with friends and communicate ingame with them using an external program like discord so you break the already weak balance of the game.
