I can't guarantee it started with League but it certainly gained its prevalence there, where "boosting" is paying someone to rank you up.
When your friend(s) gives you a bunch of items, gear, or experience to get you to a point you normaly wouldnt be at on your own. "My account was boosted"
When you are super excited and happy, like having won something or gotten a new job. "I am totally boosted"
When you have stolen something. "Someone Boosted my car!"
This Doctor is totally boosted. He murdered me and stole my purple key, on double blood point day, while giving off his creepy doctor laugh.
Ah, yes that totaly makes sense. I would pay some random for the amazing killer rank 16 any day.
Okay, that sounds more reasonable. Maybe I did rank up more than I 'earned' but I don't care for my killer rank, I play killer casual for fun and bloodpoints.
I am sorry. Sometimes my curiosity makes me wanna see what sounds they make.
