In depth look at getting to 1 million bloodpoints
I did not spend any BP until I reached the maximum. I did not take any items/addons, perks, or offerings.
With the latest update a new player can now bring one perk of their choosing before they even play a single game, hopefully making it easier for them to get the most points they can.

The overall average of 51 survivor games:
Points per game: 13,779
Time per game: 9:37
These averages include all outliers such as cheaters (survivors working with the killer), lag switchers, DC's, and simply horrible teammates.
Keep in mind anyone can make mistakes and just have a bad game every now and then.
Out of our 51 games we only had 10 very poor games.
If we ignore the outliers the average points per game was 14,445.
The highest amount of BP we got in a game was 24,688, the match lasted 12 minutes. The lowest being 1,963, this match only lasted 4 minutes.

The total in game time for all 53 games is just over 8 hours, that should mean its 16 hours to get 2 million which can get a character to prestige one if you manage the bloodweb well enough (keep in mind this was done by an experienced player on a new account, meaning low rank killers).
On that note however, that is only in game time. It took 8 hours of game time to reach 1 million BP. Steam reports a total of 20 hours on the account.
The part that takes the longest in this game is finding a match. So if you want to grind BP I highly recommend that you have something to do on the side.
I also recommend getting a group of 5 and playing with one of them as the killer in a public match (you can play legit if you want to have some fun or you can simply farm) to reach the max much faster.
To do this effectively you need the killer and the host of the SWF group to change their download region to one that is rarely used, Turkey is a good one for this. You will find your friend killer much faster than using your standard download region. If you need help to do this make sure you join the discord server linked below.

A few matches we played we found killers that were just farming. The results from these matches were not what I expected.
First match -
Points: 23,952
Time: 10:30
Second match -
Points: 19,939
Time: 8:13
I used to think that farming was a waste of time, that you could get the same amount of BP in a normal match but much faster.
In these matches I did not stay to farm, I left once the doors were opened and gaining a little bit of Altruism points. Even though I did not stay I still managed to get more bloodpoints than most of my 10 minute matches.

Now the killer games, the first round of killer was played by a complete noob, he had never seen anything of this game and only heard me saying how much I hate and love this game.
For his first round he did pretty well, he hooked 3 people but got no kills. The game went for over 12 minutes, and he received 8,301 BP.
Compared to me, a very experienced killer main playing with rank 20's, my game went for over 14 minutes, I got four kills, which meant I double pipped, I also completed a daily challenge for 45,000. The amount of BP I received was 25,825.
So newer players should not play killer to grind BP, but stick to survivor to learn how a survivor plays, and how a killer can mind game survivors.

After I reached 1,000,000 BP, I spent it all on Meg Thomas, I got her to level 35 (you can see this on my stream which you can access from the discord server linked below) but I did not go the cheap way, I went for the best items and add ons I could, I didn't rush to get to higher levels by taking perks immediately.

For a more in depth look I will link the spreadsheet that I created. It shows if I was a solo, duo, trio, or 4 man. Whether or not I had lag, did I survive, did the killer and survivors do well?
The ranks of other players plus my own Pips/depips, rank ups and deranking. The amount of points I received, the time of the game. If I completed a daily challenge, and if there were any bloody party streamers.

Good post overall. However, I disagree that new players should avoid playing killer to begin with. For one, after only a day playing, I average 40k bp a match or better as killer using leatherface due to BBQ&C. He is also a "low tier" killer as far as abilities so it really teaches you to develop your chase game.

Also, I tried playing survivor when I started and was almost ready to quit the game after being tunnelled and removed from my first 3 games. By playing killer I was able to learn tricks to playing survivor AND I did not suffer from the feeling of being singled out and picked on every match. I have done much better as a survivor after putting 35 levels of killer behind me.

I guess I mean for an extremely new player, because how I was doing it was with no perks, add ons, or offerings. In the end it is preference it was just my suggestion. Playing survivor I recommend SWF for new players, at least until you get the hang of it, otherwise it can be too hard to learn. In my experience I became a better killer from playing more survivor.

Doesn’t matter which side you play first if you’re new at the game as you can learn from both sides unless you have friends for swf. But bbq is a must have perk for killers, with that I average about 50k+ points per game. Literally a (we’re gonna live forever version 2 with wallhacks)

Definitely agree on BBQ, now with the new update a new player can get it first thing, assuming they have the DLC. Remember though, this was all done with no perks, so things have changed. I believe I finished all my games the day before the update.

Great post.

Would be a real shame if the blood point econcomy were to crash.
