But after playing it a lot, it still gives a weird but better feeling than before.
You can hide epicly, you have tons of windows to use but gens are hidden and hex totems are worst.
On topic: rofl lmao Lery's is one of the most survivor-sided maps in the game second only to Haddonfield. There are quite a few pallets in places the killer can't walk around and the map is infamous for being a window looping simulator.
You can maybe have trouble on it if it's Myers or Doctor but literally every other killer is meh on Lery's. Hillbilly and Huntress ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cry on this map and it's very easy to stealth around a Nurse when there are walls everywhere. The 3 best killers in the game are essentially worthless on Lery's and yeah sure Trapper and Hag are god tier but who the ♥♥♥♥ plays Trapper or Hag nowadays?
I have to be honest I dislike Lery's too but it's purely do to claustrophobic reasons as well as the occasional incredibly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ totem spawns. If the killer isn't running Ruin however I enjoy a fairly easy match unless I have idiot allies who sprint everywhere and can't do skill checks.
By the way pro tip: don't sprint everywhere and git gud and skill checks.
i like how they ignored this post lol.. the truth is to hard to argue it seems....
1 thing, trapper is actually horrible on lery's in rank 1 games. No grass spots anywhere and all traps get triggered very fast by survivors. I decided to play trapper a little while ago and got that map, was absolute hell because of the lack of grass to lay traps in.
And actually the best two killers (Nurse and billy) would get destroyed on this map; Given that survivors don't ♥♥♥♥ up badly
Found the Survivor Main.
So basically you don't like how it's not full of pseudo-infinites with a bunch of safe pallets and windows to be able to keep a killer running around crap for 10 full minutes?
Damn, I feel your pain. It must be so difficult.
While there is liberal salt flowing around it is pretty clear that Institute, Asylumn, Haddonfield, Autohaven, and Swamp have really severe problems on some/all of their maps.
Institute had issues where it was meant to be a hide and seek map, but because it had so many pallets that were safe pallets as well as tons of windows chases were insanely strong there.
Asylumn is a small map which nominally makes it killer sided but the central building is an eternal source of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and despite being small you almost have to circumnavigate it as a killer, it lacking a 'center' that you can play to screws killers really hard. The central building literally has pallet spawns that you can't walk around and must break, its a bit insane.
Haddonfield has literal infinites.
Autohaven is... I hope I shouldn't explain why Autohaven Junglegyms and Pallet Cities are a problem.
Swamp is just too damn big, like its comically big for a map with so much visual clutter to allow hiding. I know people who literally DC when it boots up.
I think its also fair to say that Estates are probably the most balanced maps, save for Shelter Woods which is rough of survivors, and that Farms lean slightly towardsk killer.
Preschool has its own issues but unlike Asylumn it actually is like... small in a way that matters so it feels like a wash when fatshaming infinites aren't in play.
But like... map balance is a thing because so much of the game is defined by hiding spots and circumnavigating obstacles for the killer. I don't understand how you could think a map that has multiple windows in a row you have to go through to swiftly enter or exit a room, as well as the map being slightly on the larger side, isn't going to result in it being a survivor sided map when your at higher ranks, because it has so many tools for the survivors to use.
Its deathrate comes from the fact that despite it being possibly the most survivor sided map, it is survivor sided because there are really clutch window paths which other maps lack, and because its really easy to LOS break, neither of these tools being something you learn just pallet looping. Like if you actually know how to play DBD you want to end up on Institute, which is why so many "Lets bully killer highlight reels" take place on it because there are pseudo infinites on the map.
Like when I am in a good month to be a high rank survivor due to lots of free time, rolling deep at maybe rank 5? That is the map I *want to be on* more than any other besides possibly swamp because I can borderline shout when I see the killer "Oh your not a nurse? Your not killing me! Byyeeeee! Laaaater!"
