2 survivors on the same gen : 180% repair speed (90% x2)
3 survivors on the same gen : 240% repair speed (80% x3)
4 survivors on the same gen : 280% repair speed (70% x4)
So basically, spliting up is faster, and also safer.
If you mean faster as "more gens done per minute", then the latter is true.
If you mean faster as "finishing a gen faster", then the former is true.
3/4 people on a generator doesn't make any sense unless you're trying to rush the last 2 or something
So if a killer finds 2 survivors on a gen, they both have to leave and run away. The killer will give chase, and likely kick the gen, or try to guard it, which means 2/4 survivors are now off gens entirely. Compare that to if those same 2 survivors are on different gens. The killer does the same thing to one survivor, but the other gets to stay on a gen because they're elsewhere on the map.
Additionally, it's more efficient if you try to power through ruin, too.
