It s not random,it depends on the angle you are approaching the window from.I hope the rest is self explanatory.
Can you please try and elaborate more? I have had that when I was running straight to a window at maximum speed (without SB) and it happens then too.
If you try and perform a fast vault while standing still or if you try and vault while running at an angle that isn't mostly directly ahead at the window, it performs a medium vault. You go faster than the slow vault, make noise but it's considerably slower compared to the fast vault.
That any better?
I will try it out and see if what you are saying is true but I am sure it also happens when you run straight to the window.
Not running initially or run at an angle: Miedum vault
Thank you for the clarification, will try it out in next few games and see if that is true for me.
Would definitely help me plan my runs more if that is true.
To get the fast vault, just be sure to run straight at the window from about a meter or so away and press space before you touch the wall. Otherwise, you'll get the medium vault. This isn't always possible, which is why some loops are less effective one direction than in the other. Take the ironworks, for example. If vaulting in, you do not have the space required to do the fast vault in, so doing the loop that way means you'll gain less ground. It also means that as a killer, you'll want to try to force them to change directions if possible.
Interesting about hitting the wall part. Like I mentioned, it happens to me even if I am running straight sometimes- but maybe it is due to me hitting the wall before I pressed space (or lag in the game recognizing my vault command)
Either way, I will check it out and play around it as survivor and killer in future. Thank you for your explanation
