Stakeout actually serves as an early warning.
It can start gaining charges before the Audio is actually audiable. It also helps you generate more points (guranteed) making you pip faster.

Note: The gameplay is shifting more towards a stealth role being viable, That's why I ditched the Borrowed Time/Decisive Strike mentality.

I love stake out, 'cause after 600 hours I still can't hit ruin skillchecks.
Plus it Synergises well with my playstyle, Urban Evading around the Killer to get some Stacks/Boldness points then sneakilly dipping back to a gen, rinse and repeat.

Is it worth a perk slot though when you already hit great skill checks?

It's something I noticed too. Pretty interesting.

I hit them often enough that I don't think I'd want to waste a perk slot on Stake Out. Two of Tapps perks were only added into the game because of rank 20 survivors complaining about Hex Ruin.

That's in sense how I use it too, I can hit Great Skill checks quite easily anyway, but this perk basically says "Hey you basically have a 100% chance now to do actions faster and earn more points"

It's probably not worth replacing over D-Strike or Borrowed Time, but I like to try different things, Besides I don't need the two perks to pip anyway.

It's also doubling as a SpineChill/Prem perk. I still find it funny how some say to me "You're using spine chill? Wtf you need that crutch perk for?"

If its not that I'll run Kindred, There are only two perks right now that are in many cases required due to the Killer Abilities. Sprint Burst & Self-Care.

Although I replaced Self-Care with Bond sometimes because I like the change.
