Hag is the stronger killer and has the stronger perks, at top tier hex: ruin is a mandatory perk.
Hag has Hex: Ruin which is pretty important on many killers - but you can also get it from the Shrine if you didn't already.
So it really depends what you are looking for - a new killer that is fun to play (pig) or Hag for her Hex ruin.
Hag is really not a fun killer at high ranks (if you are looking at long term) - she is very slow which makes looping her easier. Her traps mechanics are clunky and slow, and most of her addons - especially the Ultra rare and Rare ones are useless and do more harm than good.
Pig is less frustrating to play - normal speed, still loopable but you can do mind games with charge, etc. etc.
My vote goes Pig unless you REALLY want that Hex ruin (which might appear on shrine anyway, although the chance is low).
My main 3 killers i call them the Trapping Trio.
Trapper, Hag and Pig those are my 3 favorite killers in that order.
So I can say between those 3 Hag is the strongest if played well and shes really satisfying to play as well.
The Pig is just another killer that can delay the game sometimes more time then other times it depends on the Survivor luck.
They are both good Killers but it depends on your playstyle. You need to waste time with the Hag and be smart, with the Pig you need to waste survivors time.
Its up to you make your choice (pun intended).
Pig is more fun and you can slow down the game a little using the traps. Also ,you can tbag.
Laying a trap takes so long a survivor will just run away and will gain a HUGE distance advantage over you. This is really not that efficient as you try to describe it. Also, high rank survivors will likely trigger your traps intentionally when they know you are not close enough to teleport (especially SWF which are a lot more in high ranks).
The thing that makes hag powerful is her ability to snowball a game fairly well. Catching someone and putting one or two traps around the hook will guarantee a lot of times that you can followup on a the rescuer without the need to actually camp - but I find this gameplay boring and too camp-y.
I think hag's gameplay is just more frustrating. Not saying that she is necessarily weaker, but to my taste - I disliked her gameplay, and she has quite a few annoying bugs, she is slow, more loopable and so forth. Pig is just a lot more enjoyable. I agree that hag CAN be more powerful, but overall, from my experience (and I have quite some), on the long run games with pig are just less frustrating and more fun.
I don't have the Pig DLC so I can't comment on that one.
And I realized that you know little about Hag and therefore i wont tell you my tricks but what I can tell you is that placing to many traps near the hook and playing the camping game with her is a waste of time that i can tell you.
Yet again to play Hag properly you need to have skill and play wisely camping is the worst thing you can do with her.
Lol ok dude. So you don't even bother reading my posts and then you are saying "i know little about hag"? Thats cute.
1) I didn't say you need to lay "to many traps near the hook", unless you consider "one or two" to be "to many" (it's "too", not "to", btw).
2) I wrote that experienced survivors, especially in SWF, will run over your anti-loop traps when they know YOU ARE NOT CLOSE ENOUGH TO TELEPORT.
3) I did write I agree that hag CAN BE MORE POWERFUL THAN PIG.
4) So yeah, go work on your reading comprehension before trying to insult someone. looks like you are the inexperienced fella here (or you're just dense and looking for a needless argument).
Edit: oh yeah, I got twice your gameplay hours, so show some respect instead of typing like a clueless scrub.
